Sure. Good point.
I wish there was more Skaldic stuff in Skyrim. It's some fun stuff to read. I'd like to learn Old Norse so I could read some of the original stories.

It would certainly fit well with the Nord culture, and help to flesh them out more. And yes, Old Norse is an interesting language, and not particularly hard to learn for those who speak a germanic language, such as English or Norwegian. Bethesda has oftentimes taken words directly from Old Norse and put it in their game, such as Draugr, which means ''ghost''.

'Season Unending' is also a kenning I believe. Although I'm disappointed that nobody refers to the sea as 'Whale-Road'.
