IC:

The island was getting closer by the minute, and Vespasian could make out large mechanical constructs. Abominations.

An Argonian he had seen at the briefing room, name was Tey-something. He approached the man, and spoke up over the sound of crashing waves, "Hello there, I'm Vespasian, Captain of the Second. Who might you be?" the huge man extended a hand the size of a watermelon.

I'd try a werewolf. Maybe I could use Norien... he's [censored] enough...

Or I could just try and make a new character, or find another old one to use. Maybe.

I started out in Fallout, and to be honest, all the RPs over there are complete [censored] in comparison to the godliness of our TES RPs. I will never go back.

EDIT:

I forgot to welcome you, so...

Welcome.

Welcome.

Thanks :)

If there is any room, i'd love to join.
Haven't played Morrowind or Oblivion in forever, so i'll have to brush up.
I'm assuming i'll have to wait for Atomic to approve new members?

OOC :

I think 4-5 more sheets and Ill be closing this one up for a while folks. FC4, normally I would say no to werewolves...but I happen to know your a grand RP'er of whom has been around these boards longer then I. I think you can handle one, so if you want a werewolf character please do post him up.

Saint, your more then welcome to join. Feel free to ask any questions as Fallout 3 RP's are indeed very different to the TES ones and dare I say....better :P . Just use the sheet I provided and add any other bits you want .

Instantdeath, your characters fine and is accepted, but it may help to check spelling ;) For some folks bad spelling can really detract from the experience so for the sake of others around , just make sure .

Anyhoo, we have a well-rounded amount of people as it is. I will keep a few slots open for Chriso, Tayroc, Verlox, and Saint September aswell as FC4 should you so wish to join. Other then that I will close signups for now and see if anyone dies/ loses interest. Then I shall open em up again.

I will keep this thread open for characters to talk for a while before locking and posting an IC. Happy RP'ing!

Tey-Enus looked over the waves, relaxed to be out on the water. The only problem was all that smoke. The horride smell was overpowering the breeze of the water. He sniffled his nose in distgust and looked down into the wazes, noticing them pick up speed rather fast. The heavier rocking of the boat made him more uneasy.

As Tey-Enus was turning away , a large nord walked up to him and introduced himself. He held a out hand for Tey-Enus to shake, "Oh, uh hello there, I'm Tey-Enus." He smiled and slowley lifted up his hand and lightly shook it, slowley losing his smile.

"A tough journey is ahead of us, Tey-Enus.. What do you think it'll be like on the island? Maybe we'll get kill in the first few minutes.. Who knows. But I like to think we will succeed, what good are negative thoughts at a time like this, eh," said the Nord, almost having to yell over the clanking noises from the Island and the roaring of the waves.

"I just hope we can make it onto the island, I'd rather not die on sea without anything I can do, no enemies I can swing at, you follow me? I want to kill a couple of the techno-bastards and go down fightin' eh."

The sea made him somewhat uneasy, so he sat alone near the middle of the deck. He brought several fletching supplies with him in the event he was unable to find a supply of ammunition and that is what he used to keep his mind off the waves.
Pulling the reeds down over the shaft of the soon-to-be arrows he seemed to be deep in thought. His fingers working quickly, almost supernaturally, producing several arrows every few minutes.

It helped him very little though, for every wave that crashed against the bow made his stomach begin to repeat on him.
He knew one of the other passengers on this vessel either, which also made him feel uneasy.
Each arrow that was complete was placed carefully into his quiver, placed equally down to his side.

His eyes began to wonder, which did little for his stomach, his mind moving from his fletching to the sea and the others about the boat, two began conversing, also, it seemed they didn't know each other either. He would need to introduce himself sooner or later, and he would need to know what these warriors are capable of, and learn how they move and fight. But, not yet.
His lips then squeezed together and a light hearted Elvish tune was produced as his arrows made their way from his hands to his quiver.

As children they were quite cruel to their younger brother, which lead to anxiety towards women as he grew older, but his relationship with his mother was quite close.
He was not in Valenwood for too long after he was of age, he left his home life to grow outward. Breaking from the traditions of his family he ventured out to Cyrodil, a dream of his was to meet the Emperor and perhaps be a scout in his army.

Now, he travels Cyrodil, searching for a place to make his mark in the world, an adventure is what he craves. He still writes to his mother, though. She worries about him, and she awaits his letters. As he was away from home his father passed away and to this day he regrets his choice to leave home.

Suddenly, amongst the reddened skies...a black form can be seen launching from the island. Its darts into the air, leaving a visible small trail of smoke in its wake. Flying into the sky and decidedly ominous-looking against the falling sun, it emits a high-pitched screech. It is the call of a Raven, but something doesn't sound right about it at all. It sounds strange...mechanized, otherwordly.

It darts towards the ship with the speed of an arrow, and almost in an instant, its grotesque form is perched neatly upon the handrails of the vessel...right next to the Nord.

It is quite uneasy to look at, for it is some sort of disfigured bird. The body of the Raven can be seen clearly, but the original organic eyes of the creature have been dug out from their sockets and replaced with small glowing green balls that appear be darting around consistantly. The wings of the creature have also been tampered with, and appear to be incased in metal. Working pistons have been drilled into its wings, and these pistons have been welded to a small generator cut into the beasts back. There is a visible glass window at the back of the generator, and a glowing green sphere can be seen within. One can only guess that it is this magical generator that gives the bird its blinding speed.

The demented creature opens its mouth, and instead of screeching...a voice is heard. It is the voice of an ashlander, it is the voice of a madman.

It is the voice of Reznar Rerim.

The gravelly tone is distorted even further by the crackling of the transmission, and it is clear that the words are reaching the birds mouth with some difficulty. It addresses the Nord and those onboard, it's tone civilised and gentle like a finely educated poet.

Your strength is proven, you have travelled for miles
Now, you approach the ClockHeart Isles
You see.. my machines have fully awoken
Flesh, Metal, Magic....all interwoven
You may try to thwart my grand design
But you will fail, and, upon your flesh... my creations will dine

The birds beak closes and it's head darts around in a strange fashion before it lets forth another ear-piecring shriek and shoots back up into the air, a thick layer of black smoke belching from the advanced generator. The raven flies up to the top of the ship and perches itself upon the very tip of the mast. It looks down at the group, completely motionless...its glowing green orb-eyes gazing at each member systematically.

Automated Raven was added to the bestiary.

OOC: Wow, quite a few people here. Atomic, how many have you got, a dozen?

IC: S'letr St'a had finally found a nice, shady, out of the way corner of the ship to doze off in. He didn't perpetuate his nick-name on purpose, but he can't help it. After a hard day's work, all Sleeps-Through-Storms wants to do is, well, sleep.

Unfortunately, the usually solitary Argonian couldn't seem to leave the waking world. A combination of a conversation on the deck above him and his uneasiness over this voyage kept his mind racing faster than he could run.

'Where did smooth skin captain say we were headed? Didn't say, did he? So where is S'letr bound?' The lizard turned on his side, his red eyes open wide. He continued racking his memory for some mention of his destination until, unsuccesful, he brought himself to a stand. His wide hands grabbed the rope above him, his dark red, lanky arms pulling up his thin frame. His thoughts turned to the location of the captain as he ascended the ladder to the deck, one arm in front of him to block the harsh sunlight from reaching his still sleep filled eyes.

OOC: Completely ninja-ed, Atomic. I'll adress your post next time, I promise ;)

The Nord, leaning up against the railing, was awe-struck when a sickly looking, mechanical raven perched on the spot where his arms had been.

It was a disgusting creation, and its mouth cracked open, and out emitted a smooth voice.

"Your strength is proven, you have travelled for miles
Now, you approach the ClockHeart Isles
You see.. my machines have fully awoken
Flesh, Metal, Magic....all interwoven
You may try to thwart my grand design
But you will fail, and, upon your flesh... my creations will dine."

The raven and the voice mixed together sent chills down Vespasian's spine, his flesh seeming to crawl. "Blasphemy!" he screamed at the creature, his finger pointed at it in an accusing fashion. The Nord attempted to crush the half-machine, half-living creature into a metallic pulp with his fist, but all he hit was the railing as the raven shot up into the air, black smoke enveloping the Nords face. He fell to the deck, coughing and spluttering. The disgusting creation had mounted the top of the mast and was staring at the adventurers with its unnerving green eyes, well, what seemed to be glass balls. "What the hell is that thing?!" shouted Marduck with disgust and hate.

OOC: Okay... I'm just going to throw caution to the winds and start. :)
IC:

Saren had kept away from the others, and was leaning against the railings, lost in her own thoughts, when the Raven arrived. She turned her head to observe the creature, her unnerving eyes- a grey so pale it was almost white, irises rimmed with black- focused most intently upon the automaton.

It stared at them all with green orbs that she had the uncomfortable feeling someone was watching through, and then burst into rhyme.

"Your strength is proven, you have travelled for miles
Now, you approach the ClockHeart Isles
You see.. my machines have fully awoken
Flesh, Metal, Magic....all interwoven
You may try to thwart my grand design
But you will fail, and, upon your flesh... my creations will dine."

Saren continued to watch it, her body had not moved since she had turned to view the raven. It was hard to tell she was even breathing, her body was wound so tightly. She continued to survey the creature for a moment, before standing up straighter and approaching the others- Almerion and Vespasian, she believed their names were.

And Ves seemed inclined towards fear, if she was reading the symptoms righty. His loud tones and choice of words expressed anger, but anger often disguised the creeping cold chill that went up your spine when you saw something that went against nature.

Saren had not felt that chill in a long time. She was no longer sure how much she really believed in nature. She addressed herself to the shouting Nord. "It has already told us what it is," she said stiffly in her soft, low voice. Her head jerking upwards to look at the Raven with all the sharpness of a bird herself, she added, "'Flesh, Metal, Magic....all interwoven'."

She adjusted the sleeves of her gown carefully, reached a hand up to her amulet, as if to check it was there, then continued, not taking her eyes drom the raven, "I don't think we should kill it. It may well lead us to Rerim." She did not say it aloud, for she had a feeling the creature would be able to hear, if it could speak, but she thought capturing it would perhaps be a good idea. She had been planning on freezing its metal talons to the railing before Ves scared it off, but she was not one to complain.

Name: Caius Sallonus
Nickname: Caius.
Race: Imperial
Gender: Male
Age: 38
Birthsign: The Ritual

Class: Caius specializes in heavy arms when it comes down to combat. He is usually in the front line, using power and strength to defeat his enemies. However due to being brought up by a noble family, and the fact that he's an Imperial, he has developed a way with words. However he is more of a snobby type than a charismatic soldier

Skills: Block, Heavy Armour, Long Blade and Speechcraft.

Weaknessess: His biggest flaw is his lack of politeness to anyone he deems less than himself. Which is to say, quite a lot of people. He will treat others with utter disrespect if he feels it necessary. He is not afraid to speak his mind either, some may see this is a good asset, but at times it can upset others greatly, making it difficult for him to make friends. In fact he was once targeted for assassination; thankfully for him the assassin could defeat his guards.

However with this said, once he gets to know someone well and believes they can are of equal caste, he will happily call them a friend.

Due to his arrogance he can often get very complacent in certain situations. This could easily get him killed when in battle and in fact has almost happened. He has a nasty scar stretching across his right side.

Due to his age and lack of activity, he has lost a fair amount of speed so he will be quite slow when in armed combat.

Weapons: A lavishly decorated silver longsword. It is in fact a Sallonus family heirloom, and has been passed down the decades. Whilst not any stronger than a regular silver blade, it has golden engravings carved throughout the blade and the name "Sallonus" engraved in the hilt. The sword has been crafted so that is light and smooth around the hilt, allowing easy grip and fluid and fast swings, but slightly heavier on the actual blade, making sure his enemies fall to the might of his sword.

Armor/Clothing: Caius dons a full suit of steel armour, as did his father and his father's fathers. It was somewhat a Sallonus family tradition to wear heavy plate metal. It was a noble uniform but more importantly, very reliable in battle. With a few modifications it could be made more mobile and lose.

Likewise with his sword, there are all kinds of engraving and patterns engraved into the armour.

Caius maintains a very varied wardrobe. Ranging from travelling cloaks, lavish robes to elegant and extravagant collared shirts.

However he usually wears a simple blue linen shirt with faint red spiral patterns on the back. His pants and shoes are of a similar colour and design, both very soft making it pleasant to wear. Along side that he has a diamond ring, also a family heirloom. It is said to supply the wearer with extra energy, and give them an extra boost in battle.

As an arming doublet, Caius wears a thick brown tunic; it has a few small thin plates on its own.

Equipment: Like most Imperials, Caius loves gold, he usually carries a wallet with him that carries a good 200 septims. Of course he also carries a key to his Chorrol Manor.

Spells: Does not use magic.

Physical Description: Caius is not too good looking but he is definitely not ugly either. He is of a slightly above average build, due to the vigorous training by his father and other hired teachers, and of course due to the numerous battle experiences. Naturally, he also has quite a snobby look. Some say it is because he is so used to giving people bad looks or looking down on them, but in fact he has had it since birth. His lips are quite puckered and protracted, which for me is quite a bad thing seeing as his lips tend to get quite dry. His eyebrows are also naturally raised and quite high up his forehead, which in Caius opinion makes his eyes look larger than they actually are. His noise is probably his worst facial feature; it has taken a lot of damage and is lumpy, crooked and even a little hooked at the tip, however he does have quite high cheekbones, but that impressive feature is destroyed by his battle-damaged face.

Caius is of average height but is quite thick. This thickness could be called solid muscle when he was young and in his prime, however these days some of it has turned to fat due to lack of exercise, eating and drinking more regularly than he usually used to.

Caius always tries to keep his hair neat, and spends an awful lot of time doing so. It is kept in an oiled style, but he likes the ponytail (feeling it looks elegant) to let it grow into a rouge-knot fashion. However the tail is only short, and reaches about half way down his neck. He feels having it too long makes him look like some filthy beggar who needs to neaten up and was. His hair used to be a very solid brown, but as he as aged it is now starting to grey.

He also keeps a faint moustache. It stretches all the way across his up over his upper lip but is quite thin. Like his head hair, it is also starting to grey.

Height: 6'
Weight: 188 lbs
Hair colour: Cool brown with a hint of grey
Eye colour: Blue

Personality: As explained in the weaknesses section, Caius is a very snobby man. He is far too interested in himself, only doing things that benefit him or that may expand his fame. He has a very large ego, and thinks very highly of himself, and believes that he truly is as some kid of god. However not even he would go as far to actually say that. Although in a way you can't really blame him, he has been brought up in a certain way and it has been embedded in his mind, also he has achieved quite a lot in life, so it is only natural for him.

Caius feels that first impressions last, and if he doesn't think much of someone when they first meet, it is doubtful that his opinion will ever change unless they turn themselves around drastically. Nonetheless he is not racist or prejudice like many Imperials are, and he feels that an Imperial noble is no more than an Orc noble, as long as the way they act is etiquette than they're equals. This also means that if an Imperial is dirty and badly educated, then that man/woman is just as bad as anyone with the same traits, regardless of race.

If Caius does actually like someone and considers that person a friend then he is completely different towards him or her. He will treat that person with utmost respect and as an equal. Along side that he will often get drunk and host parties, but only the biggest of the big can be invited. You could say he is a little bit of a hypocrite, but no one dare say that to his face.

Caius is actually quite a smart man; he is good with speaking and knowledgeable about a many great things, one of these topics being the culture of each race. Although he is actually quite weak when it comes to magical terms. He was taught the way of the sword, or as he called it, "The Noble's way". He and his family believed magic and spells are for cowards and people who are weak, using cheap parlour tricks and witchcraft to benefit themselves.

Bio:. Caius was born into the noble Sallonus family in Chorrol. From an early age his Father, called Janus, taught him the ways of the sword as also hired special trainers to help. Janus was very proud of his family's name and wanted it to pass on through the eras.

It wasn't long before Caius was adept to heavy armour and by the age of 15 he could don a full set of steel with almost no problems. Of course there were a few modifications but it was still considered an impressive feat for a boy of such normal size.

By 18, Caius had established himself in Chorrol, and was well known in the city due to his good deeds, even if they were only in self-interest. Most notably was tracking down and killing a vampire in the city. This was the event that made him known, the event that some admire him, but also the event that changed him.

From there on he was only interested in making septims and fame, not caring for the ignorant people who looked up to him. Sure out in public he made himself look like a saint, but outside of that he was selfish. However he was never evil by any means, he hated the evil and would never go as far as to actually murder someone or anything similar.

The peak of Caius career hit when he was of about 27 years of age. Since he was about 25 he was trying to rid the area of goblins, which would frequently attack farms outside the city, shortening Chorrol's food supply. Once they even tried to break into the city itself, but thankfully to no avail. Much of Caius life from there and most of his battles consisted of fighting these goblins. At first all he and his men did was stop them when they decided to attack. This worked but they'd always come back. It was only until two years later that Caius and a few soldiers found out the source of the goblins (a cave to the southeast of Chorrol) and slaughtered them all one by one. From then onwards, there were no more attacks, and Caius was considered a saviour and hero. If only they knew what he was really like.

Since then he did a few odd jobs to get some of the beloved gold but his time mainly consisted of bathing in his glory, throwing parties and the like. However it was when he was 38 years old, whilst he was relaxing Sallonus Manor, that he had a messenger at his doorstep, telling Caius of how Duke Vadem Dren wanted to attend a meeting and how it was of utmost importance?

Miscellaneous:
*- His wine and food has to be of top quality. He was drink no less than Tamika.
*- Speaks in a very typical posh Imperial accent, and has a wide range of vocabulary.
*- Has a twitch in his nose.
*- Has a very powerful sword arm, and his attacks can be instantly fatal if he catches you in the right place at the right time.

Sorry if he seems a little uber but you said these guys were elite so I thought it might be alright. Oh and I gave him a fair share of weaknessess as well so I think it's an alright balance.

The Captain steps out of his cabin and into the glimmering fading light of the early evening. He has about him a grim expression of discontempt, and has his map still clenched in his fist. The Imperial wipes his sweaty brow with his hand and sigh's sadly.

"Its no good people, I cant make any sense of the area whatsoever. These coasts will tear us apart should we try to even bring the ship near...that bastards got us in quite a situation alright. Im sorry, but I dont want to risk getting any closer. I can lower the dinghy's, but Im not taking any chances".

He barely gets the last few words out of his mouth whereupon the Raven speaks up again. Previously unrecognised by the Captain, the old man now looks up at the morbid contraption and almost falls over backwards in shock. The crackle of static drowns out any words the bird may be speaking, but the speech soon becomes clearer as the signal is honed in.

You look upon your situation with somewhat disdain
But surely you cant give up this late in the game?
Take your ship around to the west
There is a landing that suits you best
Its rather sad really, I thought you were skilled
But now I have to help you get killed!

The Raven caws again, some sparks even flying from its mouth and dissipating in the air before hitting the deck, before once again remaining absoloutely motionless save for its dancing green eyes.

The Captain is obviously shocked at the birds advice, and he strokes his beard in thought. "The fiend is playing with us...it could be a trap. But then again, I dont think we have a choice..." . He bites his thumb in deep contemplation before looking back up at the mercenaries assembled on the deck.

"look...this isnt my mission. I will put it down to you lot. I can take you to the west face of the island and we can see if there is a suitable landing like this hellish thing just said, or you can take your chances in the rowboats. The coasts look treacherous but Im guessing there will be a lesser chance of your position being given away....and we dont really know what could be in store if we venture to the west."

He puts the map in his pocket and pats in gently. "So? What say you?"

OOC : last post for the night. Hopefully Ill see some answers tommorow when I create the proper RP thread. Bear in mind I will introduce a time skip so please dont be alarmed if it seems too sudden, I just know we'll be on the ship for too long otherwise :P Anyhoo, off for the night.

The Captain exited his chambers, and with a melancholy sigh he said, "Its no good people, I cant make any sense of the area whatsoever. These coasts will tear us apart should we try to even bring the ship near...that bastards got us in quite a situation alright. I'm sorry, but I don't want to risk getting any closer. I can lower the dinghy's, but I'm not taking any chances."

Instantly, the green-eyed machine-bird spoke up again.

"You look upon your situation with somewhat disdain
But surely you cant give up this late in the game?
Take your ship around to the west
There is a landing that suits you best
Its rather sad really, I thought you were skilled
But now I have to help you get killed!"

The Nord spat a wad of phlegm onto the deck, where it was quickly washed away by the rocking of the boat and the waves. "Captain, although my hate and rage scream at me to go into the waters on the rowboat, to wipe a big fat "no" into the bastard's face," he said, pointing at the raven, "I think we should go around to the west. I'd rather die fighting hordes of genetically enhanced monsters than drowning futilely in the waves."

"Anyways, how are we going to swim with all our gear if the rowboat tips over? We will all be doomed," he added, wiping his face of water with a handkerchief.
