I would never have thought of being able to hand someone thier own rez and letting them decide when to pop it especially in the form of a needle type thingamajig. I figured we would have some sort of rigged up shock paddles. Give whoever thought that up a raise.

It really is an ingenious idea and makes Medics so much more versatile.

I'm just picturing playing my Heavy Medic, holding down an area, tossing health directly to teammates - not having to worry about them lying on the floor for teammates to pick up. And the ability to toss revive needles to downed teammates, giving them the power to revive themselves when they feel safe. I don't need to run around like a madman dropping health and reviving teammates (even though I enjoy that aspect of Medic :) ) I can support my team and still hold my post. Granted, I will still need to be close enough to toss the goods, but the whole system seems to add a new dimension to playing Medic.

yea. it makes life alot easier when you dont have to stop shooting an enemy in order to run over to a teamate whos bleeding out and revive them. now you dont have to be close to them to heal them

I still think Medics can do manual revives, tossing them a syringe is just another tactic.

Yeah I wonder if you will have to spec into "revival hypo" to use it in the fashion we have seen or if its just a medic ability. I wish we could get our hands on the talent trees or lists.

Medic continues to sound more and more appealing to me. Not only can you revive, heal, and buff, but you can give your allies the ability to revive themselves even if you're nowhere near them.

its perfect...alot of times when a teammate would revive u...guess who was there to shoot u down again. Now the downed person has the choice...but now the medics need to be more carefull...this makes them an even bigger target then before

Well thanks to E3 we now know the medic's drop revival needles to a teammate. So now you can decide if you want to revive or not. Its an awesome idea. Also all the buffs seem really quick.

I wonder, I'm assuming the medic will get xp for healing, reviving and such. Do you think that the xp will be allocated upon distributing said needle, or when it is actually used? If this question was already clarified, my apologies.

I don't know whether to expect manual revival will be included, because it's a pretty important part of this mechanic that it gives the downed player the choice whether to be revived. Perhaps if the dying screen includes an option to make oneself unavailable for manual revival?

I expect that the XP will be allocated only for revive syringes that are actually used, not for simply tossing them; after all, the game wants to teach players to be useful to their team, and tossing revive syringes to players who don't want them is not helpful. Then again, maybe it's important that new players see that dollop of XP popping up immediately when they throw the needle, to reinforce the behavior.

An excellent point. There is an option to respawn on the dying screen however.

"join the reinforcements" may simply cause you to respawn when the reinforcement timer runs out, as opposed to slaying you as soon as you hit the button. At least, that's how it worked in ETQW.
