Medic Discussion

I don't know whether to expect manual revival will be included, because it's a pretty important part of this mechanic that it gives the downed player the choice whether to be revived. Perhaps if the dying screen includes an option to make oneself unavailable for manual revival?

Rahdo said the syringe from the demo was the Medics default revive.

"join the reinforcements" may simply cause you to respawn when the reinforcement timer runs out, as opposed to slaying you as soon as you hit the button. At least, that's how it worked in ETQW.

"Join reinforcements" will probably just make you un-revivable, and you will spawn in the next wave. In the meantime, you can goto the limbo menu and change your class and loadout for you next spawn. Also, the limbo menu was accessible at anytime in previous games, so you could choose what you want to spawn as the next time you die. With the inclusion of Command Posts in Brink (able to change class/loadout on the fly) I don't know if they will include it. I think they will still.

I mean it all depends on how many ability points it takes to use one and how long the cooldown is before they can throw one again but for the most part I wouldnt consider them overpowered because it will teach players a key mechanic to shooters make sure you finish off your kills. If you dont and you leave a bunch of enemies laying around you could make your entire team pay for it. Another thing what has to be considered into this is how many times you have to shoot someone to finish them off if its 1-2 bullets then you just tap them real quick but if you have to shoot 8-15 bullets into them people may be more inclined to leave them bleeding out so they dont get caught unloading into someone bleeding out and in that short second they make sure its clear one those grenades could be thrown and get that person back into the game. So really all depends on how they impliment everything affecting that into the game.

Able it should take all three pips so anybody can use it. Or maybe on a seperate cooldown but it needs to be long. Like the ubercharge its not something that can be used all the time.

I think healers should have an ability where they steal health from an enemy and than they hand out the heal the next time the skill is used.

Maybe that is what the new bioweapon does. Or its some kind of poison.

I think its a poison. Not necessarily a DoT poison but a poison none the less.

So what do you think if not Dot? Slowness, fuzzy the screen, ability drain?

I highly doubt if there is poison that it would be a DoT. Probably something more along the lines of a neurotoxin, causing slower movement, and maybe blurred screen.

Dazed. Slow and everything looks blurry. Inability to use smart, slower turn speed, etc...

I don't like the idea of group revive. Sounds unbalanced to me, even when it completely drains the ability bar (I suppose there is one)
Just make it easy to revive multiple people in a row but individually.

Well its already in the game and I am sure it will have a huge cooldown as well. I trust SD to have it balanced, like maybe a small burst radius for the Laz grenade.

Then I hope it's a small area or when revived health goes down the further you were from the laz grenade.

So everyone likes my point now huh? I said in Medic Abilities and someone just went on about he hey doesn't like DoT without reading my idea (reptar, i'm looking at you!!!) This was my idea DAMMIT!!!, and it's been stolen, STOLEN!!!

And like i said, the Medic could kindof work with the operative to use this poison, ie: Medic makes poison, gives to Op. Op goes to enemys, or enemy command posts. Poisons them or water at command post or something like that. Poison blocks SMART for say 10 seconds, or Poison takes away buffs, and Op. goes back to Medic, gives him full syringe, Medic buffs more powerful. That sorta thing

Still it shouldnt be specific intra class ability. It's too much interaction between character that should be doing objective or attacking the enemy team.

You can't poison a command post. It would also make more sense to hack the command post, rather than throw water on it.

Also, medkits heal for 100%, unlike in previous SD titles where it would take like 4 kits to reach full health. This should eliminate the need for TK revives. The Medic also has some sort of "medic grenade" which I don;t know the details of yet, and they can get a self revive ability.

"Your options will vary depending on your character class. In Brink, you can play as a Soldier ("He blows stuff up," said Ham), a Medic ("He gets a Lazarus grenade which can revive multiple people."), an Engineer ("He can buff the team's weapons so that everybody does more damage.") or an Operative ("Gets all the cool spy toys")."

I would like Transfusion, kinda like in BL except you can store the heal and hand it out the next time you use the skill.

They can use any weapon type that their body type can use. They don't need any more offense.
