Medics Get TOO MUCH exp

Post » Sun Aug 09, 2009 2:15 am

my only issue with the medic is that they get to much from reviving 75 for throwing it then 100 for the actual revive.. this pretty much means the medic gets more score for letting his team die rather then heal them when theyr low hp.

The only one that doesn't really have the same potential as a medic is the operative class but not a lot of people use that class so don't complain.

Thats cause they are the most specialized class. To do well with them you can't just run around tossing out buffs like candy on Halloween like the other classes, which is most people's problem with them. To everyone out there who is asking, operatives don't need a buff of their own, (read below).

It's insanely easy to get XP as a high-leveled Medic, I wouldn't mind if it was toned down just a little or the other classes got a little raise (I'm talking like 5-10XP differences). I mean, Operatives really got the shaft XP-wise, I've only ever been top overall once as an Operative.

Acshually... Operatives are in my opinion the best xp getting class, provided you use their abilities. If i go operative I have never had a problem getting 10k+ xp, you just have to disguise yourself, alot. Caltrop grenades are an xp mine, and comms hack gives you about 150 xp for one pip of your supply meter. But yeah I would say getting xp as an Op would be hard if you didn't use ANY of his abilities.

First off, i think every class has its own potentional, and i tend to have about the same XP out of every class (slightly dependant on the map and team players)
secondly, there are only 20 lvls and personally i think a person, whos lvl 1, with more skill than abilities will come out on top of the lvl 20 with all abilities.

The only one that doesn't really have the same potential as a medic is the operative class but not a lot of people use that class so don't complain.

lol at this statement, yes i think if you quickly look at all classes, there seems to be less obvious things to do for the operative,
yet trying the class out for myself for a few hours, i quickly realized its not all about the primary objectives, like most seem to think.
i started thinking out of the box, and quickly found numerous ways to aid the entire team, even without obvious buffs.

I currently mainly use 3 skills as my ultimate xp gatherer:
After finding a good vantage point i use HOMING BEACON to highlight the enemies, this gives an quick & easy 50xp per highlight and the entire team can see the enemy even through walls, this gives a great oppertunity to avoid danger and flank the other team.

after the threat it disabled, i quickly rush in to use COMMS HACK, giving me around 30xp and highlighten ALL enemies on the map,
yet another great way to find flanking routes and give the entire team an advantage on both attack and defence.

for my last skill i obviously use the disguise, another quicky xp boost, and a nice way to sneak around almost unnoticed, being able to go where no other classes can and hit the enemy where it hurts the most. also i nice note, if you find alot of dead bodies around (ussualy around chokepoints) you can just disguise as 1 player, undo the disguise and disguise yourself as another body, and so on. this quickly gives a massive amount of xp.

from what i can tell. most of the ppl that are complaining dont really know how to utilize their characters to their max potential.
with ops.. you get over a 100xp with every disguise and comms hack. and the caltrap grenade is like a turret for points. you cant say ops is weak..
with the others.. you have the scavenger. the weapons boost.. buffs. turrets. upgrading command post.. you just have to utilize your abilities and stop complaining that you cant get ex like ppl who actually use their character instead of just shooting to kill
this game isnt black ops or mag or halo.. its kind of a mixture yeah but its not a run and gun game.. its a strategy game..
its run and shoot to kill like black ops, doing strategic operations and objectives like mag.. and similar play to halo.. but its not anyone of those games and both at the same time completely different. stop comparing, stop complaining. and learn how to use your character.
you can get the highest score without even having a single kill..

I've decided that I'm more concerned that people are so worried about how much XP they're earning.

I've reached as much as 16k xp with an Engineer, but I rarely break 10k XP simply because I don't look for all the ways to earn XP and focus on winning.

I suppose the question is, what is so important to you about earning a comparable amount of XP that you want to gimp the medic's earnings to keep up?

not defending the OP, because i think its fine as is
but i think what hes suggesting is that if medics get the most exp people will use that instead of the others so they can level up faster
which in my experience (lolpun) isnt true

After playing exclusively online nearly all day, I was surprised to see many ops/soldiers.

I was worried everyone would be a med to control the leaderboard but there was only one person per team doing it, and that person was usually reviving objective based teammates so it didnt bother me.

Like with all online games, its just a roll of the dice as to what kind of teammates you get stuck with.

Well honestly, that is most likely because alot of us allrdy maxed our first chars, and the majority seem to have started with medic, as such they would be busy lvling diffrent classes by now.

I started as a Engineer, then when I got to soldier I was amazed how many soldiers there were and how few medics.

And now that I've started my medic there is hardly a medic around anymore.

Which I might add is great, leaves more players for me to buff :P

Why is anyone complaining about that medic being able to buff you more, sooner?

"Oh no he outlevelled me and now can give me five extra arms, each capable of holding a pistol, what a bastard".

Well, I actually get more from being an Engineer, even though I'm Rank 4 with 4 abilities for my medic, and 3 abilities for my Engineer. It really does matter if you play your class well or not.

Yeah man why is it such a bother to you? Just become a medic if you really think it's that big of a deal. I personally get boatloads of EXP from being an engineer.

Only good medics make a lot of points. And they deserve it for keeping the team moving. A medic is the only class that can singlehandedly hold the team up. If they're doing that, they should get lots of points
