Medieval Europe - Third Thread

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 11:10 am

No it was built in modern times, you will have to take a boat mate :P

And Mass AI won't be good. I'm not worried about the number of people I could add but the fps in the end.
A battle with 100 men would just make everything lag so much.

How many people will there be in entire London?

I saw reference to an Arthurian expansion somewhere down the pike. Am curious to know whether it will be based on Medieval (or later) romanticized concepts of Arthur or instead take a more realistic approach with Arthur as the warleader who temporarily stems the tide of barbarian onslaught soon after the fall of Western Rome. Either is valid.

And now for something completely different....

Those looking for insight on Medieval Europe might want to check out Terry Jones (of Monty Python fame) http://www.youtube.com/show?p=s-Gqsjg9y-8&pl=ACCA53B9E70D7028, the first season (are there more?) of which is legitimately posted on YouTube. I find the individual episodes entertaining and informative.

there will be around 100-110 people LIVING in london.
That is without the guards and the numerous travellers from all over europe.

Well it's an appropriate ship for this time.
There will be the hanseatic league in cities around the baltic sea, the hashashins (a guild of muslim assassins, I'm not sure if they'll be present in england however), they sure will be dangerous in the holy lands though, especially if you're christian and got a high reputation. There will also be some secret guilds, heretic associations, witches and of course knighthoods.

Just an advice, you might want to make the landscape a bit more natural, it looks rather unreal and plastic at the moment. Some things should still be altered by hand.

After many hours working on it I finally finished London! I am now making the rest of england, the wilderness and a few towns, I also made the 1/3 of scotland's heightmap.
Now due to prefessional matters I won't post any more progress before...next week or so. Good day to you all.

Goodluck MTM! and as far as I know the Hashashin were only active in the Holy lands, and they killed more Muslims then Christians, if I remember well :)

The daily news,

MTM's PM Yesterday, 03:29 PM:

I'm seriously thinking of just retire ME from the public sight. It's just annoying and I've done much more work before I posted progress on these forums and a team is honestly useless to me, just look at my progress that I made alone. I can't stand idiots that think they teach me something either.

There's a reason why it's called "private" message. Anyway I guess this is only confirming what I thought so I offcially retire this mod from this forum, you can delete the thread if you want. Those who want to follow the progress can send me requests through e-mails and I might send them pics from time to time. Good day.

No I work better and faster alone, without a team to manage.

I`ve been careful watching this and also chuckling at some of the suggestions ( a Chunnel in medieaevel times?), but I do wonder on the scale of what you are undertaking... and without a team. It`s a mighty task. but, again, i wish you the best of luck and will keep watching.

How much people have worked on the city of london? I wonder if the project isn't too big for a few people.
