Having more guns doesn't make you versatile, it simply gives you more guns. Also all the guns in the world don't do your team any good if you are nowhere near when the firefights break out.

I only need to be near them if I'm using a close range weapon. Trust me, if I had all the guns in the world, I could do quite a bit of damage from far away.

Well, this starts going into balance. If the heavy weapons are so good, that a Heavy would be stupid not use them, what does that say about the rest of the weapons? On the other hand, if Heavies are most effective with heavy weapons, what does that say about the other weapons (and the Heavy body type?)
I am planning on using heavy weapons, but I don't want to have to use, due to poor weapon and/or bodytype balance.

Come on, it's too simple, being a Medium Build Operative works out for the best on all fronts, you're light enough to get around with ease and stay undetected...but if you get caught, you're able to withstand a beating...ah it's gonna be fun sneaking by the firefight to claim Intel, only to just turn back around and beat the hell out of every damn one of the Resistance from the rear flank...

Actually, the only differences between the two faction's weapons are sound and appearance, their stats are exactly the same.

That's what I meant to put across...just the aesthetics...still a valid argument though, do really want a gun sounding beaten and battered? I know I don't hence, Security...plus they look a hell of a lot better in my opinion too...oh, and I'm always gonna pick the guys "Defending"...
