According to the Tamriel map, Skyrim is the smallest province of Morrowind Oblivion And Skyrim. Will this be reflected in game or will it be scaled differently.

They can't answer questions relating directly to the game, but I can say, I doubt they will be concerned with upholding the scale as it has been different in every game so far.

I heard a rumor once that TES was [originally] based on someone's tabletop RPGing, in the vein of Dungeons and Dragons. I've always kinda wondered: is that true?

My friends and I have a world we've developed over the years and I could easily see how it would transfer nicely to something like video games.

Additionally, I know ya'll probably don't have the time for it, but do you play any D&D or the like? And if so, do you use Tamriel as a setting?

Not certain about the actual origins, but I am certain that many of the original creative minds here were (and still are) avid pen-and-paper gamers.

I don't really play D&D very much anymore, but I am a huge boardgamer. There are many people here that do play D&D though and lots of other pen-and-paper stuff. I have never played in a Tamriel-set game of that nature, though.

Music is an integral part of my process. Helps me keep focused and blot out the world while I do things. For fun, I've even embedded some lyrics from my favorite artists in Fallout 3 and in Broken Steel.

Right now, I listen to all sorts of things, from metal to electronica.

Science Fiction... galactic exploration. Like Starflight, only with much deeper RPG elements.

Loved Starflight back in the day. Is it for sale? *nudge*

I am a complete typography snob

How does this make you feel?

Starflight was always one of my favorite games! It's what got me interested in the open-world genre. Or, it spoiled me to the point where I wasn't willing to play anything else. That's why I love TES.

If you could do a remake of any old (or new) game that you had no part of, what would it be?

In both Morrowind and Oblivion, there are several I'd say rather odd NPCs that are not necessarily related to a quest. Examples of such characters are M'aiq the Liar, Falanu Hlaalu (necrophilia :P) and Glarthir. The latter is quest related, I know, but I still wonder: how do you come up with the ideas for making these characters, and why do you make them? Don't get me wrong, I actually think it's really cool that you create those weird and mystic characters, it makes the game more interesting than if everybody were just acting 'normal'. Not to mention it has given me quite a good laugh sometimes :hehe:

I'm hoping they will license out Elder Scrolls for a pen&paper RPG. It would make a much better game than Dragon Age which currently has one.

That's because there are no games out there with the amount of fleshed-out lore that TES has. Though, you could easily run a D&D campaign in it on your own. I'm afraid that's the only type of table topping I do. I mean, why settle for less? :P

Because I want the physical product a RPG would give us. Maps, Bestiary, Campaign Atlases, extra fluff etc.! Even if it was just a one-time box-set it would be amazing. Of course the games are already amazing, but if something as shallow as Dragon Age can get one why not something as deep as Elder Scrolls?

SyFy: Love it or Hate it?

Edit: and what do you think of my avatar? :P

When I played the speechcraft mini-game with the beggars in Oblivion, it cracked me up that they would break character. It was like they were actually just putting on the act of being the poor beggar. I know some folks don't see it quite that way, but it just seemed so "Pythonesque" and funny to me, intentional or not. There were a few other Monty Python moments in this game too, such as the phrase "run away!!!".

"Monty Python and the Holy Grail" is one of my favorite movies of all time.

Any devs out there Monty Python fans?

Developers! Do you answer these questions at work or at home?

Love your work by the way. Must admit, you're sort of idols to me in the sense that I'd like to do a similar thing as a career :)

When you're coming up with NPCs, are you ever tempted to try and sneak someone you know in there?
