Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger. Just hearing the music from those games is enough to kick me back into a nostalgic haze. Also Commander Keen, TIE Fighter, and Myst/Riven for the PC.

Have you tried putting 'Sweden Now' in a longship and seeing how they do?

I usually play Terran but I like the Protoss as well. Zerg never really gelled for me.

4 - Yes
3 - Yes and Yes
2 - Yes
1 - Yes, even had a GeForce 3 at the time, so I had shiny water!

Metroid Prime 3 is definitely worth playing. I played them in reverse order, so am 3/4 the way through Echoes, and it really doesn't hold up at all.

On the other hand, I've heard that the original is better... but the Phazon system in 3 really is awesome.

And buy VVVVVV. Seriously.

What upcoming game are you most looking forward to.

myself ooo to many obviously skyrim, then theres the witcher 2, planetside next, tribes universe, shogun 2.....my social life is OVER.

Also DX11?

Also as developers when playing another developers game do you at times get caught up looking at the technical features of the game and finding that as interesting as the game itself.

I've played FF6 but not until after I discovered the series, which was with FF7. And it's great but FF7 really stands out as well. I'm a musician so I've studied the music of both, it's probably a personal preference but the music of FF7 just gets to me. Kinda like The Beatles do and The Beach Boys' Pet Sounds. The whole Jenova thing and Sephiroth with his complexes. Kefka was badder though, but not way as superfly as Sephiroth is. And also, Jenova is probably the real villain of FF7, this is what I never completely got. Jenova certainly controlled everything, including the Shinra, in order to weaken the planet with them extracting lifestream. But then Sephiroth came and I'm not really sure if the Jenova cells in his body actually managed to control him or the other way around. But it seems as though he managed to control them and using it to do all sorts of crazy stuff. Like trying to get Cloud to kill Aeris etc. And we see it all through Clouds' weakened mind that you can never trust. It's so brilliantly designed that it gives me the chills! FF6 never had that a deap story and twists. But it too had that dark, almost depressing feeling.

Much like at those other places, our lore guys don't just do lore stuff full time. (i.e. when you hear about a historian at Blizzard, it's almost certainly not the guy's full-time job -- he's just the authority on that in addition to his other duties.) We have a pretty extensive wiki of the TES lore, and a timeline doc that we can reference, in addition to a couple folks who always know the answers to obscure historical questions. Or make them up.

So, who are some lore guys around the office? Is Todd Howard one? I asked this twice, but I guess that got buried.

Also, does Micheal Kirkbride still do some writing for you?
