Hello ye old brainiacs of gaming!
Without further adieu, my questions:
1. How do you keep track of your code? In some kind of a Code Vault that you index? Do you separate each block of code into "this can be re-used in the future" from "this will only work with this engine" so that down the road, on your next engine, you can quickly recall all the "re-usable" code from the stuff you won't be able to use?
2. From the moment you have one idea, say the idea of making bad guys laugh at the player to mock them (to create an emotional roleplaying impact prior to a big battle) to seeing that idea brought to life in your game, how long does that actually take? The reason I ask is because all of us have tons of ideas to offer you to be put into the game, and often you have to say no due to time restrictions. So please just give us an idea why it works like that, by a few examples of the timeline on an idea to reality.
3. If you were to poll the world and ask every PC gamer to go out now and reserve a copy of your game, and if the money gauranteed by that were high enough, would you abandon the consoles in favor of making the PC game you want to make without such restrictions as 512 MB RAM and other inferior roadblocks to releasing this game at full level ... or do you stand by creating wide market appeal? I guess my question boils down to this: Do you venerate your vision for the game more, or reaching more people but by having to sacrifice something of your artistic vision? (I apologize if this question is tough, I'm not even sure *I* could answer it myself, hahaha)....
Thank you for creating these wonderful distractions from what (at least in my case) would be an ordinary life without people like you, hahaha.
