Meet the Devs #11

Post » Thu Jul 22, 2010 1:45 am

Scenario time:
It's 2 weeks before the release of Skyrim, Todd happily gave each employee at the office a complete copy of the game but made you swear an oath of secrecy that you won't let ANYONE know about what is all in the game. As you are walking out of the office at night, a man who loves Skyrim and would willing tell the world all about the introduction and parts of the game if he had it puts a gun to your head and demands you to hand him the game or he'll pull the trigger.

What do you do?

I would turn to him, hold the game in front of him and open it. At which point pure epic would shoot into his eyeballs and consume his innards leaving nothing but ash which we would then use to expand our building.... wouldnt be the first time, its a big building :chaos:

1. What if the world was made of glazed donuts?
2. What if your hands were made of hot-pockets?
3. Where do the squirrels go during hurricanes?
4. Something more original.... Are the mountains in Skyrim really the rim of the sky, or is the name just a misleading thing. Could they be compared to the Himalayas? (In lore, not the actual game, that might be hard to make)

Fleetwood Mac's "Tusk," in its entirety, with the pauses as Lindsay Buckingham intended.

Do you like answering peoples questions.

Have you ever made love in the workplace, if so was the bosses desk involved.

Spoiler
I bet the first thing you thought after the second question was no I don't like answering questions like that.

1. In games like Mass Effect or KOTOR, do you guys usually play as a good or evil personna?

2. Where do you get your inspiration for names? I always find it hard to name my characters...
There must be soooo many names to find :|

Is there going to be any samurai inspired armor/weapons?
I absolutely love katanas in my RPGs

With Skyrim's announcement on Saturday, we're excited to open up our latest Bethesda Game Studios' Meet The Devs thread. This thread is your opportunity to get to know the developers working on Skyrim. Should be fun as you'll run into some familiar friends, as well as plenty of new folks to the team.

Please keep in mind this thread is NOT for asking questions to the developers related to Skyrim. There will be a time to ask questions, but not yet, and not in this series of threads. Our amazing forum moderators will keep an eye on posts that aren't in line with the theme of the thread.

Why did you change the dunmer voice acting in Oblivion? And why did you change Cyrodil from jungle to forest? Also what was your personal opinion on both these changes?

A few questions on your NDA's

1) will you folks ever be able to comment on your own? If yes, is there a target date, how far down the road is it?

2) or does/will everything need to be filtered through PR/media?

Grazzi,
Rumbly

P.S. If you didn't, play it. It's a classic and literally the best rpg ever ;)

1. What does Todd really do? I'm not entirely sure :P
Does he come with ideas? Or organize the work being done? Does he work with anything in the game (like level designing, testing, coding, etc)?

2. If you could describe what Skyrim is for you in two words, what would those two words be? :)

3. What are you working on right now? (I understand that you can't say anything concrete about the game, so ... say some abstract?)
