What're your favorite fantasy book series? Hopefully not a song of ice and fire haha, so depressing. Nearly everyone seems to die by the 3rd book >.<

SPOILERS! I've never read that series!

Kidding, I don't mind. I mean, if something has been out for a month it's fair game for spoilers to me. Especially when the series you refer too has been around for over a decade now.

Anyway I second this question. My favorite is the Orcs series by Stan Nicholls. I really love his take on Orcs and I've never seen another author write battlescenes as well as him.

So what's the first thing you're going to do once the game is shipped and you leave work for the day?

What is your favorite James Bond movie? :ninja:
I, personally, am a fan of "The World is Not Enough"

Which Rambo movie is your favorite? :gun:
Tie between "First Blood" and "Rambo III" for me.

Do you have any random stuffed animals (or anything else) near you while you work that you look at whenever you need inspiration?
I don't... :turtle: :frog:

Do you have any weird habits that you do while you're on the computer?
I always have to hold and click a pen. And I sit down on the chair with my legs on the chair and my keyboard on my feet. I'm not sure why... :brokencomputer:

Do you also shout "I'm EEENVINCIBULL!" after you hack the satellite uplink... Boris? :hehe:

Hello developers i guess i have a question do you love TRANSFORMERS AS MUCH AS I DO. And for someone in high school i just want you to know i would like to become a storyboard writer for a gaming company ( if that's even how you'd say it).
Also i would like to know if i'm a geek because i learned how to read off playing Zelda when i was little. Um and what's the craziest office party you've ever had and was there any awkward work moments afterward.

Thank you to those at Bethesda for existing to make this game

P.S my friends know that on 11-11-11 that if they talk to me i might kill them from pure excitement. You guys have successfully created mind control by using a video game.

Most Awesome Developers,

What advice would you give a budding game designer in terms of a "work portfolio"? What sorts of media do potential employers most like to see? Mods, sketches, short stories, game prototypes, actual games, if you could name the top 5 things that every self-respecting game designer should have under their belt?

Thank you, keep up the good work!

Thanks for that, just about halfway through the second one :tops:

Also those books are awesome, no matter how depressing they get, they are awesome.

Back when the first Transformers movie came out, the company paid to get the whole Rockville studio tickets to see it. We all left work near the end of the day to watch it together; we took up nearly the entire theater.

I will second this, in a portfolio for someone aiming to be a game designer (Not really sure what field yet, studies haven't really kicked off into specifics) what is relevant? Any game I design or make myself is obvious, but what about concept artwork, story outlines etc. ?

I will also add a question. Have you ever worn a tophat and monocle to the office? If not, why?

Another random question...
More like another set of questions...

How long does a thread have to be inactive for it to be considered necromancy if somebody comments on it?
I think a week should be the limit.

I asked this on a thread a while ago, but it wasn't answered (it may have been, but I didn't see the reply if it was), but are there any Drum Corp fans over at Bethesda? If so, which Corp is there favorite?
Madison Scouts FTW

Are there any musicians over at Bethesda? If so, what do they play?
I play trumpet.

Some questions if I may, I know that at least one of the dev's plays WH40k but what I'm wondering is.

Imperium or Chaos? (Or any other faction in WH40k or its fantasy counterpart)
If one of the above what is your favorite chapter?

And something more TES related is have you considered perhaps trying to release more literary works like Inferno City and its sequel in the future post Skyrim, maybe getting some writers (ones who have read up on the lore and approved by Bethesda) to write some novels with Nirn as the setting? Afterall theres plenty of fan fiction out there and I'm sure many would feel honored to write for Bethesda and write some novels and would not only get more people interested in the Elder Scrolls but also make some more money on the side. It would be nice if I could read some more elder scrolls.

Who in the dev team is most prone to come up with the brilliant idea "... wow this party is great and all, lets go to a stripclub" on a release fest.?

What pranks do you guys pull on the lore writing team?

Do you guys have discussions about what coffee to order into the cafeteria?

Have any of you guys ever tried to steal all the stuff in a NPC's home in a previous elderscoll game. Just to drop it outside of their home in a laughing silence?

If I say "I know a guy named George Washington, do you know a dude called 'Skooma'? around here" What would you answer?

My main army lately is Dark Angels (yay errata updates!) but I also have a Necron force around 1700 points (c'mon new codex), a few units worth of Battle Sisters and the Orks from the Black Reach set. I've seen Blood Angels, Ultramarines, Space Wolves, Imperial Guard, Tau, 3 different Chaos armies, Tyranids, and an Ork army fielded by some of the other guys; there are about 10 of us now who play fairly regularly.

Wow, I'm genuinely jealous right now, that is one expensive hobby. I always loved the Orc/Orks myself, I have a tiny Orc army in the fantasy Warhammer game but I never really played, I was in it for the painting. I love how Ork vehicles in 40k are faster if you paint them red (No really).

Several Bethesda devs are 40k fans, too? In that case I have another question for the devs:

When was the last time somebody told you you're all totally awesome?

1) How much wood can a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood?

2) If you had to compare Skyrim's graphics to another game's, which game would that be?

3) How old is the oldest employee there? What about the youngest?

4) Do you allow pets in the office?

I'm currently 16 (exactly 1 month from 17) and after college I really hope to get a job with Bethesda Game Studios. Do you devs that work there see this as a possibility? I plan to get a degree in level design from Guildhall and I currently mod Oblivion/Fo3/NV. It would be my dream job to work with all of you all on games in like 5 years. I have checked the Bethesda website's job postings about once a week for almost 2 years to make sure they still want Level/quest designers. They have constantly, so I think its practical for me to think I could be hired there. Do you guys?

Here's a question...

Do you see game art/design/programming as a career that will last? Well, just the game industry in general? Do you think that it's a fad that might die out, or be ruined by laws/censorship, or do you think you'll be able to have a job in the game industry for the rest of your life?

Do you like tea? If so, what kind? What time of day do you best enjoy a nice cup?
Good luck with Skyrim and best regards,

Go to school and apply everywhere lol. I feel bad for you tho cause I'm a few years ahead of you so I'll be leaping at all the possible jobs first :P Here's hoping we can both work at this fine company someday.

Kids these days... there's more to the Imperium then the Space Marines! Which can be jettisoned out an airlock into the Eye of Chaos for all I care. Gimmie IG! :D

Or the Inquisition. I'm actually DMing a Dark Heresy game for some other people at work and we have a blast.

At least I hope we do. <_<
