What game is your favorite for each of these genres? And not a game that you worked on.

1. RPG

2. First Person Shooter

3. Strategy

4. Action/Adventure

5. Super Mario Brothers (yes, they are a genre)

When you play TES games, do you prefer dungeon diving/wilderness exploring or hanging around the cities doing quests, buying and selling, stealing etc.?

How long takes it to compile the whole Oblivion or Skyrim code?
I'm sure no one will actually compile the whole code at once, but whats your educated guess?

1)
Anyone in dev team from South East Asia? or East Asia at that?

Just wondering, since my cliche is that western game studios got all-western devs working for them (I was surprised to see some asian names in CoD MW credits)

2)
Ever thought of inserting credits In game? Not just in main menu? (maybe as easter egg?)

If it's anything like Fallout 3's release party, it'll be...well, pretty epic. Much debauchery was had. We all had trouble meeting any of our co-worker's eyes for a week or so after that one...

Or the Inquisition. I'm actually DMing a Dark Heresy game for some other people at work and we have a blast.

At least I hope we do. <_<

Oh man! It's awesome to find out Devs from my favorite game studio play my favorite tabletop game!

I got to ask now, which do you think is coolest? Ordo Hereticus, Ordo Xenos, or Ordo Malleus?

Well, here goes my question...

Along with your games, I have in my personal altar other series: Metal Gear.

So I wonder... any Metal Gear fan among you?

these very same people complain about no longer being able to exploit core gameplay faults, so this isn't really a credible argument.

Bad argumentation to try to defend bad design implementations upon a whim ?

Coolest? I gotta go with Daemonhunters. Xenos are basically just regular imperial forces... IG, Space Marines etc, they all hunt the xenos. Witch hunters are basically just daemonhunter-lites; the really nasty witches end up as daemons anyway, right?

The stuff we're doing now is mostly Hereticus with a bit of dabbling in Malleus. I personally like Hereticus cause I think that's where you're going to get the most intrigue and it can easily spill over into the other two. Usually cause you're rooting out heresy only to find it was started by xenos cults or some daemonic artifacts.

I will try to word this properly, forgive me if it's convoluted:

When you are working on something in a new game, how much room for personal taste and design is left up to you? Do they give you the general idea of what they want but let you put your own flavor? Or is it very strict?

(Related to my questions above) Especially for dungeons, how much of the actual dungeon "feel" is up to each dungeon laborer? Is there someone giving you pictures and dungeon designs and you are the one who puts them together? Or is it more generalized and you have some artistic freedom?

Metal Gear 4 is what sold me my PS3. I have... a very conflicted relationship with that series. It's simultaneously everything I love and everything I hate about video games. Brilliant and maddening all in one glorious mindjob.

But I will always get the next one.

It's a mix. A lot of it is driven from the actual designers coming up with ideas and getting feedback from leads, but for some quests/areas there's a strong direction from the top. It's all pretty fluid. At the end of the day, you want the person actually making it to be excited about what they're doing, so there's a lot of room for creative ownership within the overall direction.
