Agree with Thunderjunk. Skyrim.

Is learning "Python" the game language good for building a resume in the game development industry? :grad:

Python's not really a game language -- it's a general purpose language that sometimes gets used for games. I think for AAA games you're much more likely to see Lua/Squirrel/some in-house custom thing.

If you're looking to learn to program, Python can be a great start. If you want to get serious, though, at some point you're going to have to learn C/C++, memory management, all that fun low-level stuff. But if you're just trying to see if programming is something fun you'd like to do, check out Dive Into Python and go nuts!

What's your favorite fantasy animal or race?

You mean like traditional fantasy animal? Or just something that's fictional?
Personally, I've always been a fan of obscure folklore, urban legends, and cryptozoology myself

When they asked what he's most proud of he couldn't elaborate on one of them yet. I wonder what it is?

Like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_nQrdO--r8 weird, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2R7k1_kOqvk weird.... or like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmAJKL2Gi60 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ba1oxuIIY1I kind o' weird?

lol might just as well ask you guys this: which one of those that you find somewhat more palatable than the others? Not really any of them for me tbh! :D (though I do have my share of "pretty weird" music that I somehow enjoy).

Wow those are are really weird. I cant say I dig any of those although I myself do have my own selection of what other would consider weird music

oh hey to any of the 3ds artists I am thinking about becoming one and I was wondering at what age did you start? I am 16, have had about 3 years experience with blender right now and I have sold about 100$ worth of 3d models, do you think that is any good?

Its a good start. Keep at it ;)

Whats your favorite TES game?

I have to agree with the others, Skyrim. Although I do really like alot of the concepts and ideas from Morrowind

If i had any question for the Artists, it would be this:

Where do you get your inspiration for the "feel" of Skyrim? Like your concept art for armor/ weapons/ land scapes ect.
Do you just sit down one day with one set idea in mind and go from there? Or is it more of a trial and error thing, like Todd comes in and says yeah i like this, this, and this, but not this.
Im just wondering because im an artist myself, and maybe someday (hopefully with fingers crossed) become a concept artist/ 3D artist for Bethesda.

I tend to look at movies and other artists work to get inspired. I actually also looked at alot of concept art from morrowind and of course our own current concept guys, Ray and Adam who inspire me on a daily basis as wel as the other artists around me here in the studio.

What is the environment like at the office (BGS), and does the staff hang out outside of work?

We do. We tend to have some groups with which we hang out with pretty regularly . Everyone here is very good peoples for the most part.

You guys ready for E3?

Cant wait!! :celebration:

I can't believe you wore a Bethesda shirt in your Bethesda Interview.
That's like wearing the shirt of the band you're going to see

Thunderjunk, what is your favorite Lord of the Rings character?

Guess...

You know, for some reason my friends have decided to nickname me Gimli. I am not a dwarf, nor am I stout, nor do I have red hair and a long beard, yet Gimli I apparently am. And now I must say that a feel a little less unique and special in your presence. Don't know why, but I do.

I should probably work for a better nickname. I tried Braveheart once, when I covered half of my face in blue pool chalk and ran down shouting "They may take our lives, but they can never take our freedom!" It was classic, got a good laugh, but sadly it never stuck.

Maybe I should stalk your offices, attempt to pry game knowledge and all that and gain a reputation as "that one crazy stalker kid", though I doubt Irrational Games will let me near them for a while after...well...yeah...

That was you eh? I saw that predator statue in the back. I got my brother it for christmas 2 years ago. He already broke one of the talons on his blade. :glare:

Do you guys ever create content (scripts/quests/3d objects) that don't make the final cut of the game? Not like concept work, but fully produced stuff that may conflict with something else..or needs to be taken out for an undetermined purpose?

Could you share one from a previous game? (Fallout, TES)
