With Skyrim's announcement on Saturday, we're excited to open up our latest Bethesda Game Studios' Meet The Devs thread. This thread is your opportunity to get to know the developers working on Skyrim. Should be fun as you'll run into some familiar friends, as well as plenty of new folks to the team.

Please keep in mind this thread is NOT for asking questions to the developers related to Skyrim. There will be a time to ask questions, but not yet, and not in this series of threads. Our amazing forum moderators will keep an eye on posts that aren't in line with the theme of the thread.

Just wanted to post a quick hello to everyone on the forums. Thanks for being here and keeping TES going. Yes, we read a lot of it, and have been for a long time. It's great to finally see a "V - Skyrim" section on here along with Morrowind and Oblivion. Like you, we're fans too, and we're just as excited about this game. The whole team at BGS has been giving this their all for the last several years. The next 11 months should be fun, and this is a great place for the team to hear from you. No, we can't give away info early, so don’t bait us into trouble!

Thanks again for all your support, not just now, but for the last 16 years.

I still think it's awesome how Todd posted

I have just 1 question to the developers.

Does anyone on the team enjoy fan-fiction for their games? More specifically short stories and Machinima. And if so, have they ever inspired ideas of your own to implement into the game? (or into the story for the writers)

Any chance you can allude to some of the changes made to the script engine in the Creation Engine ? Or should my tongue be beaten wafer-thin with a steak tenderizer for asking so much of you ?

Unfortunately I can't elaborate at this time other then to re-iterate what Todd's already said in that it's a new system for Skyrim. :smile:

Though I am half excited and half scared to death of what modders will think of it :laugh:

Why Park City, Utah? Some specific reason?

Aspen would have been pimp, plus the Rockies in the area are way more "Skyrim", imo. Breckenridge, CO would have been great too(and cheaper, I'm sure). :biggrin:

SmkViper, vsions, Thunderjunk et al --- you guys are rad, and we are very grateful for your semi-regular presence on the boards. But what about the other devs? killmoms used to hang about here but we haven't seen him in a while, and there are literally 90-odd devs that just stay away from the forums entirely. Tell them to come and say "hello"! We won't bite- much!

I understand your reason of keeping silent about some things. Some things you can voice that Todd has already said.

For the Modders you shouldnt have to worry i bet you they take whatever system you give them so long as you improve upon the previous system.

I was watching http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0280609/ the other day and wondered If you've seen it...I know that you guys can't spill the beans on these things, but any hints that wouldn't get you in trouble on the possibility of a return of lycanthropy in Skyrim would give me a great deal of hope...

kinda silly:

will gems and jewels have high values this time around, and will they be used as alchemy ingredients as well??

for some reason I like gems they are shinny and colorful :ninja:

edit: this is not a game question its like a wired hybrid question, like a mutant ninja turtle that fell into a nuclear reactor then got hit by a cosmic radiation storm
