MEGAserver

Hi everyone, as a guild leader I have been anxious to find out how the mega-server works for quite a long time (since late 2012). At first we were told that the mega-server would be a way for us all to connect together without making new characters on different shards to get together with friends. Because of this information, my guild has been recruiting players from EU and NA as we were not aware that they would make two MEGAservers (possibly a naive move on our part). To be able to make decisions (such as guild positions) I need to know how the megaservers work and who will be able to play together (if we are separated), it is now mid January, only a few months away from launch and I am still not sure how the megaservers work.

Unless I missed a big chunk of information, I am pretty sure they have not released any information on how the megaservers work which is a little frustrating for me (and I'm sure many other global guilds). So, the main focus of the post is to try and uncover the megaservers mechanics and how we will be seperated at launch, even if it just provokes discussion.

Can we change megaservers at the click of a button (without creating a new character)? Will EU players be totally cut off from NA players and vice-versa? Do Zenimax even know how the megaserver works haha?

I even contacted support a while back and received this response:

“Greetings!

Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online Team.
We have yet to discuss in detail the ways in which our megaserver will place users from multiple countries, but our goal is for players around the world to be able to adventure together in The Elder Scrolls Online. We’ll have more details on the workings of the megaserver as we approach launch. We hope you stick around till then! :-)
Currently, the best way to keep an eye out for upcoming news about The Elder Scrolls Online is to watch our official and social channels.”

Another player also contacted support (a little more recently) and received this response:

"Greetings!

Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online Team and expressing your interest in helping us test The Elder Scrolls Online.

Don’t apologize, this means regardless of the server your guild members are on, they will be able to play together, but if the instance is hosted on the EU server, players located in the US may have high latency and the other way around.

Please let me know if this is not clear or if you have any other questions."

This information calmed me down for a little while but I recently read something that made me a little nervous again (unfortunately I don't have access to this information right now).

Does anyone here have a definite answer or do I need to contact support again? Again, I really need to know for sure sooner rather than later as I have a guild to run with players from North America and Europe :|
