I read somewhere that Megaton was going to be completely blown up during one of the quests. Is that true? That's why I'm shifting all my stuff to a house in minefield

You have a choice to blow it up. Ergo, you don't have to blow it up if you don't want to.

If your leaving the stuff you put in houses in minefield wont stay there they will eventually be gone. If you have got a house you have either disarmed the bomb or you have gotten the house some other way but once you get your hosue Mr. Burke leaves for Tenepenny Tower I belive, correct me if im wrong on that point but I never seen Mr. Burke after i get my house in megaton

Yeah. I've got a house in Megaton. Needs new linen on my bed & somewhere to shower. Any suggestions?

You already saved Megaton and own the house there. There are mods that improve on the Megaton home if you are on pc but I suggest getting the RR Companions Vault. It is a great mod and has so many features. There are also a lot of mods that let you tweak it to your liking.
