So I just went back to fooling around in Fallout 3 with my new character. I'm looking around in Megaton when I look up and notice (for the first time, yes I fail) some of the buildings are made from an airplane. I'm then standing next to the Brass Lantern that has Chinese writing on the signs which looks like it came from the airplane. Then I take a look at the bomb, was this a Chinese airplane carrying a bomb that fell of the airplane when it crashed? Is this already known or what? Just wondering if you guys knew or wanted to discuss.

If I recall correctly Megaton was built with pieces taken from an airport and constructed around the crater left by the bomb. Also the Brass Lantern sign is not the type of thing you'd see on a military plane.

So much for hopes of finding out who bombed who first.

I think the bomb was most likely being carried by an American bomber on it's way to China, maybe knocked out of the sky by the EMP blast from the nuclear strike. I say that because it's a 'Fat Man' bomb, the type which was dropped on Nagasaki, and which requires to be dropped from a bomber. There's no way a plane could have got from China to DC in the two hour duration of the Great War.

In New Vegas, on Black Mountain you find a terminal. In it you read how the Chinese launch first and the US responds immediately in kind.

Keep in mind that there is a Vault-Tec logo on the bomb itself when you design your hypotheses about Megaton and its bomb.

That does not look like a Vault Tec logo to me.

They are similar, but the bomb does not have the three individual lines radiating from each side. It also has an extra wedge-shape at each side of the circle that the vault tec logo does not have.

The Bomb was made by vault tec and the buildens are made from parts of an old airport.

Then how did the bombs get dropped on D.C?
I remember reading that ICBM technology was in it's infancy and just being developed shortly before the Great War.

"The Great War" and "World War 1" are two different wars. WW1 and WW2 happened. And in the late 21st century The Great War ended it all... sort of.

Or rather, started it all.
