I'm so sick of that robot in my Megaton house. He's got in my way countless of times and knocked over my decorations. My question is, if i kill him and wait for 72 hours will the body disappear?

no, but you can turn him into an ash pile, or lure him outside by shooting him then walking out the door (however, this doesn't always work so save b4 shooting him). May take several tries

Eh, I can't see why. He's invaluable due to his hair cut ability. But maybe you don't care about aesthetics as much as I do. However, if you want to, use the robotics perk and deactivate him.

You forgot to mention his outstanding jokes. Deactivating him will kill the last bit of humor in the wasteland.
But I understand OP's feelings. Especially the decoration-thing.

I'm on the 360 and his body does disappear but I don't know how long it takes. It seemed to take quite a while. I just carry him upstaris and dump him in a corner.

Agree, he's totally infuriating. If he'd stand still, and had a sixy female voice and would flirt with you or stroke your ego then that would be something.
