Megaton House Themes

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 1:31 pm

A quick question; I just got the house in Megaton, and I noticed that you can buy stuff for it and get themes.

Do the items - like the jukebox etc - change appearance depending on what theme you buy?

And if you buy multiple themes is it possible to flick between them - or will the house always keep the last one you bought? I know you can't sell them back...

No, the jukebox, infirmary, etc stay the same.
The house always keeps whichever theme you last purchased. If you want to change to a different theme, you have to buy another one from Moira. I don't know if you can buy the same theme twice if you decide you don't like one after changing.

You can't buy it from her again unfortunately. But I think there is a way to go back to previous themes. I may be wrong on this however.

Interesting; thanks both.

Any more info is certainly welcome. I'm trying to look at pictures to decide which one to buy, just in case I can't change it.

Any favourites?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jMKbA2i45I on youtube shows what the different themes look like.

I prefer the Love Theme, because it has a bed downstairs. Got trapped after sleeping in the room upstairs once by the darn bot blocking my way out. So always went for the downstairs nap after that. :)

I don't know if the themes are rebuyable, but some come with skillbooks (like Lying Congressional Style for the Love Machine theme), so that might be a reason why you wouldn't be able to buy them multiple times.

Ooo, thanks for that. I'll take a look.

Also, why doesn't Moira have any money to buy my stuff? Does this reset with the inventory or something? I'm still thinking on Oblivion terms, where shopkeepers could buy everything, they just had a max amount per item.

My favorite is no theme. I've looked at them all. They all just seem too cluttered and the house (shack) is small and cluttered enough as it is. And in general they don't add storage (as I recall Science might add a small amount of storage).

Personally, I think Love Theme is the best, soley for the fact you don't have to keep running up and down the stairs. My stupid butler likes to sit in the middle of the stairs or the middle of the door to my room for no real reason...
Plus, who WOULDN'T want a statue of people having six hanging from the ceiling? lmao

Her caps reset every three days but she only ever has a few hundred caps. Your best bet for trading is to invest in the traveling caravans. Once fully invested in, they'll have around 1,000-1400 caps each.

I had a question about trying to buy themes, and items for your house. However I do not even have a option to buy any of these items. Is there is something that I am overlooking?
