Does it matter what it is to me?

I think people have a right to have an opinion, no matter what it is (as long as it's not extremely offensive of course and they shout it out in public, kind of like soop's comment at the bottom of page 6, which I reported).
Those who think it looks bad or kind of bad think so for a reason. It's their honest and truthful opinion. Don't complain about that, seriously.

Well, if people want to complain, and get upset when all I do is ask them a question <_< we can always go back to the way the graphics were 10 years ago, I'm sure people would be much happier with that.

The games graphics are on par/ better in some respects then games today. The outdoors, I'll admit, doesn't look the best, but the character design and the attention to detail is amazing. I'm not trying to bash anyones opinion, but if you think these graphics are bad, you should play Oblivion again.

At this point, they can't fix it. In fact, they probably never could have made it much better than it is now no matter what they tried, it's not like "good graphics" was just an idea they hadn't thought of. They are limited by the console technology, and would have put as much effort into optimising it and make them work well as they could. Do you really think that Bethesda would have to hear us say "improve the graphics" for it to occur to them?

I didn't really think our comments would make a difference to their development and marketing strategies, those decisions were made several years ago. Thats why I use the term customer feedback and not feedforward. And to be honest the quality of the graphics and UI and any other features constrained by their development strategy wouldn't stop me buying the game. I just hope Bethesda doesn't use any deceptive marketing spin to promote this game as being something it is not, that tends to put me off.

I think it looks decent. It isn't on Witcher 2 or Crysis level but seriously, what were you expecting?

We 're talking about really old hardware.

Of all the things about Skyrim I have critique on, of all the things Im unsure about, the graphics certainly are not one of them.

I think that all the screenshots and videos I have seen so far look absolutely stunning. I think its going to be like walking around in a very well done graphic novel or possibly oil painting, and that I can hardly believe I am in an actual game.
Really, stunning.

They said it looks "next-gen". That's what I was expecting.

look of the screen 360 and a comment as if they were a PC in my opinion is useless but a medium pc is on average more powerful than a 360.
IF you have a pc that can't hold Skyrim on max setting, than you can take off some of the graph settings and you will play much better but with a "consolle" graphic. It's your choice!
So dont talk about "1000 dollars PC" frustrations. A smart game production house don't leave the consolle and pc version really identical, especially for its flagship product.

Well, Todd and Pete are infamous for misleading the public so, there.

Remember Oblivion's Todd Demo? Yeah, we just have to read between the lines.

It wasn't what I was expecting either, compared to what I imagined when I first heard "We can now confirm that the TES V: Skyrim engine is all-new. And it looks fantastic".
It's definitely not bad, but it's definitely not fantastic either I'd say. To me, it's OK.

You also have to keep in mind that your looking at a picture, a screenshot. When I saw the graphics in the gameplay trailer, especially when the character was running through the forest, It just looked absolutely stunning. Just amazing.

I'm sure the demo will do the game more justice. Especially the glimpses we have already seen of gameplay.

Yeah, I remember. But I think Beth learned from their mistakes. At least a little.

That's exactly what I think, nothing outstanding to look at but OK about sums it up. I don't expect everybody else to share my opinion, not sure why we get crucified for expressing ours.

If it looked like this, then I could understand people having a little cry.

But it doesn't.
And that game is GOOD. You know, in the sense that its fun, rewarding, challenging and has a good story to boot.

I would much rather all those properties then "ohh look shiny shiny".

Indeed, the textures doesn't seem very polished, the fur is a little blury, the trunk a little angular, neither bushes nor trees have shadows, and the tusks seem identical in both mammoths. :verymad: I hope they'll make something for the tusks like a semi-random tusk generator, wiith possible broken tusks. And there are some months left to polish the graphics. And mods are coming...

Do you think the engravings on the tusks indicate giant clans to which the mammoth belong?

Anyway, I am glad they put mammoths in the game. Let's hope for whooly rhinos and smilodons as well... :hubbahubba:

You don't know how the game plays nor how it's story is told. This is Beth we 're talking about after all - really bad writing.
Keep in mind that when one tries to hype something so much, he must be expecting peeps to scrutinize.

heheh sorry for my English, i'm not exactly confident in it, but if you havn't relied on the meaning you're not very bright
All games for PC can run on machines as efficient or less efficient, just change the graphics settings, it's easy.
you really believe that it is more difficult to balance the graphics engine to make it fit on an old hw, or leave more large textures and effects due to increased computing power?
My PC don't IMPLODE, maybe your console will.
If it's possible, why not use it?

I would like to specify that the current screens are very good for a 360 and impressive. I'm waiting for the pc imgs

If you think the writing is bad then you've not looked into it AT all. The elder scrolls has possibly the best story line I've had the pleasure of working through in any game.

Right.
WHAT is the point of awesome PC graphics if at least 50% of the population wont have access to it??

This just smacks of the smarmy pimple face brats complaining that the developers haven't paid them enough attention.

1st. I don't know mang, I 've had the pleasure of playing games that blow TES's writing out of the water. It's not as if
this is secret knowledge.

2nd. DICE, CDProject and a few others would respectfully disagree.

Well, to be honest. Storylines are all a matter of Opinion and preference.

And what would they disagree with exactly?

Storylines are a matter of preference. The way they 're written is not.

They would disagree with the notion that a huge market share is inconsequential.

Well see heres the thing, You've just expressed an opinion on a writing style, and then asserted that its bad, as a fact. It is not. You apparently, just don't like it. I on the other hand do, and find the story line quiet good.

Also I never stated that a huge market share is inconsequential.
I stated that the market for sooky, over paid 17yr old hasnoideawhatheactuallyhas gamer with expensive computers that his daddy bought, is not has monumental as the sook over paid 17yr old thinks it is.
Its a common theme through modern society, people thinking they're more important then what they actually are...
