Mel Gibson dead?

Because these types of things are UNFORGIVEABLE! Why can't people like Gibson be more tolerant?

Because his brain isn't wired properly. Ours are.

I don't pay too much attention to the personal lives of stars, I'd rather watch their performances. I like his movies, same with Tom Cruise.

I think it quite a shame that the media goes on and on about how his behavior is over the top horrible but downplays the fact that he is diagnosed as bipolar which has everything to do with it all. A manic phase can be horrible:
http://helpguide.org/mental/bipolar_disorder_symptoms_treatment.htm
)
Why do we treat sick folks so badly? Why do we hold them responsible even when they can not help themselves? Shouldn't he be getting help instead of having his most manic phases drug through the mud on national TV? Isn't he still a good actor? A good person who is sick? It makes me crazy that we hold mentally ill people accountable for their worst moments instead of directing or assisting to get them the help they need.

Because on the whole people these days think its easier to judge and go "ha ha look at the freak" it makes them feel a lot better about themselves "I may have problems but at lest I'm not that guy"

Although there is also an argument that celebrates make millions by being in the public eye so can't complain when the exposure works against them.

But yeah its well known poor Mel is actually ill and having a family member who is Bipolar I can tell you its not a whole lot of fun. And believe me in their more passive days they express some regret about what they say and do

I hope the people who are quick to jump and point the finger and judge and ridicule never have to deal with anything like this (although really I'm all for a bit of poetic justice).

The only thing dead about Mel Gibson is his career, and sanity. Other than that, we're stuck with him, unfortunately.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Like I said previously (which was probably looked down upon with disdain because of the "OMGGZZZ hezzzz RAZZZIST" people overlooking his mental snap) it's been blown out of proportion.

Mental breakdown coupled together with bipolar-ism.... tell me you wouldn't say anything you'd regret?

:foodndrink: Absolutely, but I must say I thought braveheart was awful and probably of dubious historical value.

I generally do not watch main steam Hollywood movies for their historical content ^_^ .

I'm hearing some people say Mel Gibson died but I couldn't find anywhere that said he died can somebody clarify this for me?

You should know better than to believe things posted on you know, that one website. Because I also saw that, but I immediately knew it was just a joke.

Also, I don't care about what he said, it was just an angry outburst and we've all had those and said something we immediately regretted.

It was also rumored that Jeff Goldblum was dead at some point in the relatively recent past.
.... c'et la... internet.

Anyway, about Mel.... Lay off the poor guy, he is not well. Just because he is a celebrity does not make him immune to mental stress. And... it is possible his wife did something to cause that outburst. I am sure whatever she did, did not warrant the things he said, but generally such bipolar outbursts are not completely unfounded. Maybe she said something to upset him which triggered a mental breakdown.

I like his movies. I think he is a very creative person who, unfortunately, is completely... human. People make mistakes, and don't pretend like you haven't said something you regret.

The media has been doing a lot of bad press on him recently. Nothing has been proven yet, but apparently he punched his ex-wife in the face, and started threatening her and throwing racial slurs in the air in a series of phone calls.

Mel Gibson had his time in acting, sadly, its gone, along with his name thanks to the media.

Actually, I wouldn't place that much faith on the recordings quite yet, as they're currently suspected for being tampered with. However, if it's genuine, Mel is screwed.

He's an action star who's too old for action roles. Like Harrison Ford, he's a dinosaur of a bygone age, unless either of them manage to get older badass roles like Clint Eastwood did.

As for his personal issues, I don't really care much. Everyone has problems, everyone has their opinion on the world, and as long as they keep it to themselves it shouldn't be an issue. Obviously Mel hasn't exactly been doing that, but he's no different to any other schmoe whose marriage is in the toilet and whose sanity is on the edge.

I know, but the biggest incriminating evidence against him is the tapes, which would be inadmissible in court if they had been tampered. At the moment, I'm not rendering any judgment, other than Mel was obviously drinking too much and has anger issues. This everyone knows.

Also, Mel's ex-wife had filed that he never hit her or their 7 kids when they were married.

What Tiger Woods did was lame (apologize in that fake way, apologize to your wife if you want, i don't care/don't want to hear it) but Mel never backs down or apologizes hhah

I think the ex-wife is more terrible for allowing those tapes to leak to the public. It is one thing to use them in her divorce case, but to deliberately leak them (I'm assuming it was deliberate based on what I've read) is just plain horrible. Not to say I condone his words of course. Also, I didn't know he had bi-polar issues. That would definitely explain a lot.
