Isn't that true of most games?
My point is, why bother with the knife? Unless you really have no other option (out of ammo, in a bind, etc.) the gun is always the better choice. (not talking about stealth based games, where subtlety and silence are needed.) And in Brink, you can have a silencer, so even the stealthy part of using a knife, doesn't really apply.
And in the case of BC2 specifically (since there's around a 50% chance your knife attack will not kill the intended target) shooting is always the better option.
I have played BC2 for over 300hrs. and only have 48 melee kills. It is my goal to
never hit the 100 and 200 melee kill insignias. (Yes, I'm actually priding myself on
not achieving something in a game.)
It's an FPS game - the S stands for "shooter" not "stabber."
