Melee DPS Formula ? Anyone ?

Hello,

Any one figured the DPS formula yet ??

Meaning on how to count the actual damage the weapon can do in certain amount of time ?

not concerning perks or anything, just relations between damage and speed ??

Thanks in advance !!

Melee damage seems to be randomized, or else enemy health varies widely.

probably 1 / (attack interval) * Damage + (any DOT effects). That's how DPS generally works. If you can find or measure the amount of time between each attack, you should be able to find the DPS. For high damage per hit weapons, it's a good idea to adjust the formula like this to find more realistic Times To Kill for various enemies:

damage + (1 / (attack interval) * damage) + (any DOT effects)

This is because combat may not start before you land the first hit. If you hit the enemy first, you get a spike in DPS for the first second because you cannot correctly count DPS as if there's a delay BEFORE the first attack.

For example, let's say you have a hypothetical weapon that does 30 damage and attacks once per second.

If you do a sneak attack and follow up immediately with a regular attack:

(3x damage multiplier from sneak attack * 30) + (1/1 * 30) = 120 damage in pretty much one second.
