Melee 3D isometric view and cool combat moves

I was wondering if its possible to have a 3d isometric view if you go melee, with cool melee moves with swords, or deathclaw gauntlets, power gauntlets, etc.

And instead of just swinging the sword or punching with the fists, you have cool moves, like rushing up to the opponent, slicing and dicing and leaping into the air to finish off your opponents.

VATs system could still be used here, paused and then target the head/arms/legs. And when you land a fatal/critical blow, you could have the head/arms/legs explode in gory detail.

Not sure how you'll implement VATs system, perhaps it could be done in pre-battle options, otherwise you'd have to wait for everyone else to finish targeting.

Bethesda owns VATS, gamesas doesn't.
gamesas had a simple aim system in Fallout and Fallout 2.

Personally I dont think it will be First person at all, 3rd person view like wow is the most likely, but im hoping they will go with the Tabula Rasa style of play.

Very few MMOs do first person, its a matter of allowing the player to see him or herself that validates the gear and race choices in most MMOs.


As for the Vats system, u cant pause an MMO.

So what they could do instead is direct abilities that are vats like.
Say u are a soldier class, and u get the ability to shoot three straight shots at the opponents leg.
Bind that to the number 1 key.

So ure shooting normally like any game, then press the number 1, and u instantly shoot three shots aimed at the opponents legs, then continue to shoot him normally waiting for the cooldown.

Actually, VATS is not any game system, it is nothing more then a pause with an aiming menu. So I don't see any reason to drag this self-made construction into the MMO.
Speaking about Fallout and S.P.E.C.I.A.L.(I still hope it will be in V13), there is nothing heretical in gaining an ability to make aimed shots depending on a skill amount. For example, light guns 80 gives you an ability "Leg shot" (with CD or without it, no matter) that you can bind on a key.
The same way with melee, raising a skill you are getting more different strikes (trips, kicks, swings, weapon knockouts ets.) that you can bind and use in a different ways. It will be handful, it will be spectacular and it will be skillful. Excuse my bad English... I am a Russian bear, it's hard to type with claws.

yep, if anything then they used nerfed(no groin/eye shots) version of FO1/2 system for their real time combat.
