[WIPz] Melisande's Menagerie

Squirrels?

Yay squirrels! :cheat:

Well, not actually squirrels (though it would be funny to summon a
horde of them; watching all those fuzzy tails attacking a foe for his..err...nuts?
...priceless)

http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g235/Wesadam/Creatures/WAR_HS_GRYPHON_SCREEN1.jpg

These relatives of the larger winged variety are the result of hundreds of years of
domestication. Such domestication has left them wingless for the most part (with
some instances of small vestigial feathers/wings). I imagine that these would/could
be a common pet in Highrock (imported, of course, by Melisande, who will be a Breton :) ).

I designs on making a few versions of these (Orange Tabby, Calico, Seal-Point Siamese) :D .

More to come later

Like that creature!!! :tops: Could you make the feather texture go over the shoulders and fade out onto the spine like the traqezius muscle? And maybe add some smaller feathers like that around the head inbetween?! :D

I am doing this (mostly) for another version, but (for all intents on my part) I am steering away
from the typical Gryphon look fpr the one shown and leaning more towards the house cat side :twirl: . The other
versions will also have different feathers and ears (to increase the variety of their look) :) .

A beast of devout loyalty is a gryphon and that is an excellent model! I long to see the lion's version of this. B)

It is tough balancing that "Aww, that's cute  " with "DEAR GOD, ITS GONNA RIP MY FACE OFF :shocking: "; still working on that, though :twirl: .

But I want the "Awww, that's cute " one to walk around my house and nuzzle my leg begging for scraps of raw, tasty flesh that I've brought back from my latest adventure.

That's how I imagined it too; "Here boy, I brought you a treat... A nice tasty heart of a Daedra... *glomps and devours" :)
That. or a severed nord leg for them to chew on (mmmmm).

I actually had a "squeeee!" moment when I saw this gryphon.

And I don't "squeeee!" Ever. Curse you and your "Squeeee!"-worthy creations.

Helluva nice job!

Careful not to "Squeee!" too much, else the gryhons might think that you are a rust rat and pounce :D !

To keep discussion rolling along and open, I will pose a
question; "What kinds of creatures would you all like to see"?

Now, mind you, I have a few on my plate in planning already
(like a feral Mer-Humanoid/Siren creature, Harpies, Dragonesque
creatures, Nymphs and so on), but let me know what you like. If anything,
I will gain a bit of insight as to what everyone is interested in
(whether I can make them or not is another matter to be handled
at later time :) ).

Hmmm... this might be not too popular among others, but Id LOVE to see more different wolf recolors! You know, like the ones shown in comics and stories - pale, cream, different shades of black, brown, wolves with socks, spots, etc... That would be SO awesome to drag along with you your own pack of bright, different wolves!.. Since I often even roleplay wolf with Scripted Spells, different wolf recolors would be even more awesome...
But that's just my own personal dreams xD I will LOVE all creatures you make Westly, because every creature becomes a diamond in your hands.))

Reminds me of a http://www.corollax.blogging4life.com/wp-content/images/headers/2008/03/pseudodragon.JPG from D&D.

EDIT: Someone could probably retex that small dragon from MentalElf's Tolarn Companion to be the right colors for fire lizards. I don't know anything about Pern dragons, but they look like they're just miniature but otherwise normal dragons to me.

I have a suggestion for pets drawn from WoW experience: Basilisk, and Spectral Tiger. I would love a spectral tiger. :-)

Yeah, in the books fire-lizards are the native creatures geneered into dragons. I found the books a bit meh after The White Dragon (and the Menolly series is really juvenile fiction) but the fire-lizards are so sweet.

Muchos kudos for pointing Tolarn out to me, downloaded.
