Memorable Moments From Fallout

Post » Sun Jun 07, 2015 5:00 am

Well, it's finally come to light! Fallout is back and it looks fantastic!

So, because I am so excited for it I thought might be an idea to put on here our memorable moments from the series. Fallout 1, 2, 3 or Fallout New Vegas; even Tactics. What was your most memorable moments in Fallout?

For me I would have to say a few actually:

Fallout Tactics - First experience against super mutants

Fallout 3 - The first behemoth battle outside Galaxy News!

Fallout 3 - Killing Tenpenny with a headshot and seeing his body fly off the balcony or a frag grenade at his feet, sending him off like a rocket.

Fallout 3 - The Dunwhich building.....

FNV - Killing all at the Fort with the Archimedes laser!

FNV - Telling the Ultra-Luxe greeter to 'blow it out his ass'.

So what was yours?

It's difficult to pick any one moment. My whole first runthrough of Fallout 2 is the most memorable for me. Whish I could relive that again; or find a game that would produce the same kind of experience (preferably from the same series, but...... yeah :sadvaultboy: ).

Definitely the Dunwich Building.

Vault 106 - Freaky

Robco Factory

It's been a few years. I think I'm going to give Fallout 3 another play through.

In Fallout 3 seeing a group of Brotherhood (Outcasts?) with miniguns taking down a deathclaw. Prior to this i had not yet encountered the brotherhood or a deathclaw and i just thought it was cool af to see at the time on my first playthrough.

FO1 - Getting to Vault 15 and realising for the first time the others didn't fare so well

FO1 - Telling the Master where he could stick his stupid plan, and having him realise it was in fact stupid.

FO2 - Talking to Sergeant Dornan. The most brilliant NPC of any gamer ever made.

FO3 - Saving the Megaton Sheriff from being murdered by Mr. Burke

FO3 - Shooting Three Dog in his ugly, annoying, hyocritical, preachy, useless face.

FONV - Boone: "We have a problem. If we go near the Legion I'm just going to start shooting them." Courier: "That's not a problem, that's a solution."

Pretty much all of Dead Money and Lonesome Road. Both of those were superbly crafted.

The moment in Dead Money when you realized Sinclair basically built a very shiny tomb for his beloved was, I think, pretty heart wrenching.

I like Dead Money. I like the history and the sadness of the life's of Sinclair and Vera Keyes. After learning what Dean Domino did, made me really detest him. I made sure every play through he doesn't survive.

I loved finding the odd skeleton tableaux around the Capital Wasteland.

I loved the atmosphere of Point Lookout.

Never liked Point Lookout. Didn't seem "Fallout" to me. Those moronic, inbreeding Swamp Folk killed it for me.

A lot of things in Fallout 1. A few things: In the beginning, entering vault 15 and hearing the music and sounds, it was dark and felt dangerous. The whole atmosphere in that place was one of those things I directly connect with fallout. Another one was The Glow, it was a scarier and bigger version of vault 15, one could say. Jump to F3, entering the ruins of DC in Fallout 3. Which is one of the reason I prefer Fallout 3 to NV. Never liked the country side feeling of it.

Being cast out of Vault 13 after everything you did for them. Yeah, I got a parting gift for you Mr. Overseer. :gun:

That might be why I liked it. It was different. Different strokes I guess!

True. Just like a lot of people didn't like Operation Anchorage. I enjoyed it immensely. Being a history buff, I enjoy the history of the Fallout world.

O:A was fun! I like pretty much anything with rich lore backing it up. One reason why I fell head over heels for Morrowind and the TES universe in general, and Fallout.

My first encounter with super mutants in Fallout 3. I've never been that scared before! I remember running ass backwards and dropping bottle cap mines as I went. Found out how awesome bottle cap mines were as they saved my bacon numerous times.

So all my hours playing FO3 I have never ventured inside the Dunwhich building but I see other players comment on it frequently

Is it worth going through?

FO 1: The first time I faced the Master. I was overzealous and tried to take him on, it didn't end well. Also, his reaction when he learned of the Supermutant sterility was kind of heart breaking.

This might be a bit cliche but for me the most memorable event in entire Fallout series will always be leaving the vault 13 for the first time and going through that cave.
