Ah, but there are pants designed for women. Now, a skirt designed for men (A kilt I guess) is a different story. It was made for men.
Skirts have been worn by both men and women many times through history. The only real difference between them is the name, depending on which country is being talked about. The only difference with pants "designed for women" is a slightly different shape to accommodate a different body shape. If it were unacceptable for one gender to do something attributed to the other, the proper thing would have been to just always forbid them from wearing it, not make a more comfortable version. There's no real difference between skirts because all you're really doing is wrapping it around yourself, no real "fitting" necessary. It's a unisix object, like, say, a coat. If it's cold, anyone might wear a coat. There's no reasonable design argument against skirts, which itself is a bad argument because there are
very few things people don't use outside their intended design if it's convenient. The only issue here is insecurity.
