Yeah, it's kinda funny how so many players just assume because it's a female toon, it's a female playing it. I almost don't notice it anymore except for the most aggressive, obnoxious idiots.

Yeah.
There is alot of ppl that like to do that in real life too.
Not my game though.
I like fighting in real life, and in videogames. I also like training hard for fighting competitions, and during my resting periods i can still do this by "training" a character on screen. I don't want my training and adventures to end. < Thats MY reason.
^ This.
Of course now-a-days I've gone back to playing female characters. With so many men playing female characters, I just tell people my name is Bobby, and use the word, "brah" a lot.
As far as why men do it? To me, it's a game so I've never cared.
You could be a pit bull behind the computer playing. As long as we're having fun, it's all good.
For me to do that I'd need ZOS to make a /[censored] emote and I'd have to bind it to one of my G-keys.
edit: And considering even that is censored I doubt they'll do that for me.
Hm yes. It was a mistake of me for posting this thread. Its just a matter of preference as it is with many things should be the last comment.
How do you close a thread?
I'm sorry you feel that way about yourself.
Someone's parents clearly didn't tell them that they could be anything when they grew up. Even the Emperor of Cyrodiil.
My assumption whenever I see a female character besides my wife is that the person behind the keyboard http://www.thomasvan.com/wp-content/files/Internet-tough-guy-troll.jpeg.
I usually come up with my character concept first and then make the character around that. Some of my characters are male, some are female. I think the more important question is, why does it matter? Whether or not I'm male or female on this end of the computer has no bearing on how I play the game. If I'm playing in your group and I'm playing well then really, what does it matter? Unless you're the kind of person who hits on anything they think may be of the opposite six in game then why would you even need to know? But if that's the case then you need to stop it.
i wouldnt say that comment is trolling, i would say it means that there is a lack of imagination.
it would be a horrificnightmare for me to wake up one day and look in the mirror and see that overnight i became a female.
when i make armor and weapons in eso i felt really good about myself.
it was an awesome feeling to see myself explore new areas and see new aspects of gameplay.
im not childish because i like to be myself in elderscrolls. im just having fun pretending im in that world and how i would truely re-act to being in the situations that elderscrolls creates.
i like myself, i enjoy being who i am and who i have become.
i would be very upset if people treated me like i was woman. im not a woman, and i dont want to look like one.
No friend! Not at all! But we both know that's not the real answer. It's just the answer everyone will go with because they're not fully comfortable with telling people how they feel.
I play usually female chars as I really loved the caster females from Witcher story books. And I also prefer to play females as they are just cute if I have to watch them like 100 hours. I also know that the character I play its not me and I never felt that way even in my first mmos. I used to play male chars mostly meele then I started to play women casters in different mmo and now I play female meele too. Altough for non human races I usually pick male as they often looks better such as orc.
Wait! Please explain this . . . I can't wait to hear the answer.
Well, then you and i are on the same page. I agree with this. I love the immersion with my Tamriel version. Its like acting, you bring a part of yourself to your character.
When I play a RPG I create characters. I'm not creating carbon-copies of myself in an attempt to imagine myself in another world. That's just not the way I approach video games. I don't limit myself to creating characters that are reflective of who I am in real life. Why, then, should I restrict myself to only one gender? If I have 8 characters and they're all male, that's boring. If I have 8 characters and they're all female, that's boring. I prefer a fairly even mix of both.
Elaborate? You really think it's a stretch that some men find female characters more aesthetically pleasing? They're easier on the eyes; it's nothing deeper for me, I simply find women more beautiful than men.
I can play female characters because I can also read books with female protagonists and watch movies with female heroes. It's so obvious.
So you get to play a role playing game, invent any character and role you want in a magical fantasy settings, the only limitation your own imagination and you chose to be .. yourself?
Now that's a phenomenon that needs explanation.
I personally make mine look like my girlfriend (or best I can)
That being said, regardless of my gf I would still make my templar dedicated healer a woman because (this might be sixist in some fantasy world lol) I think of a woman when I hear healer.
