Description
===========

This mod attempts to make merchants more useful than just to buy the PC's loot and to overhaul the loot system so that each enemy lair is different and unique to that enemy, as well as make caves, forts, and ruins unique from each other. There is also now a chance that clutter will be equipable as either armor or a weapon.

This mod removes gold, armor, weapons, repair hammers and lockpicks from loot lists and containers. It increases the items that vendors have available for sale, and their inventories will now include a chance of receiving enchanted items, new staffs, new torches, lanterns and Ayleid weapons, based upon the original type of items they sold. Mage guild vendors are now able to sell staffs, along with their normal items. Certain smiths will sell lockpicks, similar to the function of a "locksmith" . A new, but rare and expensive potion has been created that cures Vampirism, and is only available at select merchants (Vampire cure script has been modified to allow being infected with vampirism even after taking the cure) .

Vampire lairs have new ingredients and human blood vials that are scripted to give the effect of human feeding for vampires and new vampire disease potions which will infect you with Porphyric Hemophilia. Necromancer lairs have black soul gems, necromancer staffs, and new ingredients. Oblivion realms have Daedric staffs, and daedric torches. Ayleid ruins have Ayleid staffs, ayleid torches, and ayleid dishes/clutter.

A brief description of each Plugin is below.

MALO - Clutter Replacer: Re-prices clutter items that previously had a zero value and modifies the weight of certain items.

MALO - Guild Tweaks: Adds ownership to items found in guild halls. Also corrects the FG porter following bug.

MALO - Loot Tweaks: Removes repair hammers, lockpicks, armor, and weapons from crates, barrels, and enemy chests. Adds new enemy specific loot to caves, forts, and ruins. Adds chance that clutter items will be equipable.

MALO - Vendors Additions: Adds new vendor chests to most merchants. Increased the price of recharging magical items, training cost, and cost for repairing items.

CUO/CURP/DCRP:

MALO - Loot Tweaks DCRP.esp: For players who use Cyrodiil Upgrade Overhaul, or any mod by Giskard or Dragon Captions that requires the old Cyrodiil Upgrade Resource Pack or the new Dragon Captions Resource Pack use this alternate version which adds additional staffs to enemy specific lairs, similar to those found in CUO_BadGuySpecificLoot Plugin. CyrodiilUpgradeResourcePack.esm is required.


Oscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul:

MALO - Clutter Replacer: Added scripts and changed some icons to be compatable with OOO. However, both mods reprice clutter, but MALO is lower value and reprices more clutter than OOO. If you wish to have OOO prices place before OOO.

MALO - Guild Tweaks: OOO also includes guild ownership to items found in guildhalls (although the ranking is slightly different). If prefer to use OOO's ranking, place before OOO (suggested).

MALO - Loot Tweaks: Added scripts to containers and torches and added OOO loot where appropriate to be compatable with OOO. Place after OOO.

MALO - Vendors Additions: Tweaked settings and added OOO spells to Selenia Orania and Alves Uvenim to make compatable with OOO. Place after OOO.

Hard to believe that this is not more popular!

First off Congrats on releasing this.

Questions though about load order and which mods to use if using FCOM.

So would one use multiple versions ... for instance .... Clutter replacer pluggin for OOO and MMM hunting and crafting?

Or is it that only one should be used?

Edit: New versions allow you to use multiple optional plugins.

Regarding FCOM, I do not have it downloaded and so did not check against FCOM, although I would guess that the OOO versions should be used. The MMM and Frans versions are only for optional Plugins from those overhauls.

Yes and no. If you use the unleveled version, you can get any new items from loot and vendors at any level. However, good loot is harder to come by, i.e. I removed most weapons, armor, clothes, gold, repair hammers, and lockpicks from loot, so you will basically get clutter, bones, torches, gems, jewelry, some gold, and very rarely staffs from loot. But vendors will have much more items/weapons/armor for sale, including new staffs and enchanted items.

Interesting.. I'm not gonna dl it just yet, cuz my load order always is a mess every time I add something new and I'm on laptop that can only handle a few mods at a time. D:

Nonetheless, this could be worth some checking out later. It always bothered me that vampire dens didn't have blood and other relevant items laying about. What were they doing? Eating each other's flesh like ghouls? And why couldn't I find Alyied things in long forgotten ruins? If the undead are down there it's a pretty sure thing that those secert passages weren't picked clean.

Changed the Optional Alternate Versions into separate plugins for compatability, so theycan now be mixed and matched much better. However, the unleveled version, OOO version and Harvest Container version are still replacer plugins. Moved the CUO/CURP/DCRP version into the unleveled version download.

I also added Wrye Bash patch tags to each plugin.

cool mod. i'll be trying this soon. i'm currently play testing my settings for the Gold Adjustment mod with a new character, so after i get a feel for how things work with that i'll drop LE Items and give this a try.

npm78 - if I may ... these packages are very confusing.

I downloaded them all and am trying to make a BAIN package that offers all options (not that I'd use all, but doing this is one way for me to map out what all the options are).

So for a leveled experience one could use the main download plus either the OOO version(s) or the Harvest Container version or the original version(s).

Could you list which are optional versus replacer? Is it just the MMM and FRANS versions of these mods that can be additive while all the rest are single use or replacer only? For instance the DCRP versions have different esp titles but does that mean they are meant to replace or be in addition to the main versions?

Perhaps maybe even some BOSS suggestions. I'll try a few combos then post my load order for feedback if that is cool.

Not trying to bump just seemed a new post was appropriate. How about this for a BAIN package:

00 MALO Core

30 OOO Version - figuring that this would take priority over HC above

- is this additive or a replacement?
65 DCRP Loot Tweaks Harvest Container - is this additive or a replacement?

So with this I figure that You always choose the 00 Core then from there either leveled or unleveled. then from there replace loot tweaks for leveled or unleveled with harvest container versions.
Next, if using OOO that should take priority over Harvest container then add the FRANS or MMM versions (well wouldn't use FRANS with FCOM that I know of), or use these instead of OOO.
Then finally I'm not sure if it is that the DCRP (which I think you have intended to be mainly used with CUO) can be mixed with and added to any of the leveled versions above.

I for instance use just about everything from Dragon Captions/Giskard except CUO - and I have CyrodiilUpgradeResourcePack.esm installed, so is that possible and if so would they be additive mods or replacer mods? If additive then where in load order would they go? If only to be used with unleveled then probably best to put all unleveled content in another BAIN package. Having looked at the master requirement then I can see if one were to follow BOSS then using DCRP version with OOO would not be possible and keep BOSS order.

I notice right off that Clutter Replacer and Loot tweaks are mergable into bash patch. One problem though the MALO - Clutter Replacer MMM - HUNT.esp does not seem to recognize that its masters are in the right order (I checked it over multiple times and still the mod is orange in Wrye Bash). It loaded in tes4edit and merged into bash fine though.

Then come the questions about BAIN package install order. I notice that it has the meshes for meteoric weapons and was wondering why if all it is doing is adjusting loot and such with content from other mods what are these replacers for? Are they to add into other mods that normally don't have them?

Looking in tes4edit I really only see interactions with OOO and some UOP so having the lower MALO mods load after MMM not really necessary unless that position affects leveled lists. What are your thoughts? here is what Wrye Bash gives for delevs/relevs:

So then after all that I then ran the the game and made sure to
1. Kill a bandit and goblins
2. Visit all shops in IC Market district
3. Visit a few Tamriel Travelers (not sure if they are effected by this).

My character is level 8 - not sure what I'm supposed to see different. Other than a few pieces of armor and swords most of what was sold in the IC market was the same. Likewise then loot off bandits and goblins was identical. what should I be looking for? maybe my eye is not trained to see what this is doing. I guess next I need to venture into content specific vanilla lairs and see what has changed.

Psymon: Wow, that is a lot to answer.

1. The plugins that are replacers of the original (leveled) main files are: 1. unleveled version 2. Harvest Container plugin 3. OOO plugins.
The Frans, MMM, and DCRP are non replacer plugins. Make sure you have downloaded the latest files that I uploaded yesterday to make these changes!!! Prior to that they were all replacers, which did not work so well for mixing and matching

I do not use BAIN so not sure exactly how it works, but looking at the way you have it laid out seems okay, except that the OOO files are replacers and would replace the unleveled version. The unleveled version is primarily for CUO and similar type overhauls and would not fit correclty with OOO, so OOO should be loaded with the leveled version.

The Frans and MMM versions can be used with either leveled or unleveld versions, no problem.

The DCRP file is additive, but I will need to double check whether it can be used with the leveled version, but I do not see why not. i should probably separate it from the unleveled folder.

2. Regarding the Master order for MALO - Clutter Replacer MMM - Hunt.esp, I am not sure if master load order is different for FCOM versus non FCOM setups when using BOSS to sort the order. I will double check my version, but it will not be a problem with it working correctly. EDIT: After reviewing your load order, I placed the MALO ESM below MMM ESM and you have it reversed. It should not matter though.

3. I added Ayleid weapons, new staffs, new torches, lanterns, and new clutter to the mod. These mostly show up in vendor shops and loot chests. I know that FCOM and some other mods use the same resource, and I kept the paths to the textures/meshes the same. I did not modify them so if you already have the textures/meshes then you can either overwrite or not, no problem, as long as the texture and mesh paths are the same.

4. The only conflict with MMM should be the two optional addon files, the other MALO files do not need to be loaded after MMM. After OOO and FCOM convergence should be fine. Again I have not checked with FCOM installed so that is only a guess.

5. I will need to take a look at Item Interchange and see if the placement affects any of my mods lists or containers.

6. I did not modify NPC or Creatures, so there will be no difference there. That is in the works though. Also Tamriel Travellers was not included, and I did not modifiy any Vendor lists.

If you are using the leveled version, you really won't see much of a difference in the vendors unitl around level 7/8, and then it will still be subtle. The vendors should have new enchanted items for sale, and occassionally ayleid weapons. You should see unenchanted staffs for sale from some vendors, as well as lockpicks, more pelts (not just bear), different torches, more staffs at Rindirs and Calindill should sell staffs. Mage guild vendors should also sell staffs. However, I do not know how saturated the vendors are with OOO and FCOM to really be able to tell a difference. I may increase the amount of items added to vendors, this is one thing I have been contemplating, as I was not sure if it was possibly too subtle.

The major differences you will find though are in chests, crates, and barrels. You should NOT find any weapons, armor, clothes, repair hammers, or lockpicks in any crate or barrel. If you look in crates and barrels you should see combinations of clutter as either weapons, armor, or just clutter. Also, for thieves, chests in houses should no longer be filled with clutter but with actual clothes. And vanilla specific lairs will have new ingredients and itmes, but you should not find any repair hammers, lockpicks, weapons, or armor in chests.

Look forward to any thoughts you have after dungeon crawling. Feed back is welcome as I try to fine tune this mod.

Ok thanks for the answers. Couple issues though.

The masters for all OOO versions have the esm in this order:
Oblivion.esm
MALO - MAIN.esm
Oscuros_Oblivion_Overhaul.esm


So then when if one were to follow boss then OOO.esm always preceedes MMM.esm. I tried to reflect that in my load order. by placing the MALO - MAin.esm after MMM.esm this just turned all those mods orange in wry bash.

so, for whatever reason, MALO - clutter relacer MMM - Hunt.esp is orange even though I followed the load order it seems to want for its masters. The load order this file demands of its masters is:
Oblivion.esm
MAlo - Main.esm
Mart's Monster Mod.es.
Mart's Monster Mod - Hunting & Crafting.esp

which is the order I followed.

Now if I add in the MALO - Loot Tweaks DCRP.esp then it will want the MALO.esm to load after CyrodiilUpgradeResourcePack.esm which as we can see is not going to be compatible with the masters load order for OOO versions and ultimately BOSS. I know I could change the master order myself, but thought I'd let you know because if the DCRP versions are additive then perhaps they should share the same master load order as the rest.

Also if they are additive then were would you recommend placing them in my load order? ... no the harvest container one will never be OOO compatible as it requires harvest containers.esp to work and that is integrated into OOO. Still then if the DCRP loot list master load order is worked out then where would that go?

Corrected the master list for MMM Hunt plugin and Fran House Loot Plugin. (Not uploaded yet, will upload once create new DCRP plugin.)

I also checked DCRP Plugin and it is for the unleveled version, so would not work with the leveled or OOO version. Will work on a leveled version tonight.

I use Gold Adjustment and Living Economy no problem. Works great. You can use cutthroat merchants, it is the Living Economy Items plugin that does not work with my mod, although you can get the same effect as cutthroat merchants with gold adjustment. Gold is an inventory will also work as I do not touch gold itself.

any issues with COBL? not sure how loot/merchant lists work is why i ask.

This looks very promising :) One query though. Regarding the Loot Tweaks plugin, what counts as 'enemy chests'? Does this mean all treasure chests, anything locked, or what? In any case, I'm looking forward to giving this a try.

i'm using the OOO version. i notice the Delev Relev tags on the esp's.

should both MALO-Clutter Replacer.esp and MALO-Loot Tweaks.esp also be merged in the Bashed Patch? they show up as mergeable mods in Bash.
