Merchant price increase/decrease problem

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 1:36 pm

Sorry if this is a FAQ. I did try to look around and search a bit, but not finding the answer. . .

I'm using MGE (with AA and Aniso filtering), and I'm having a problem where, when I'm bartering, I can't hold the mouse button down to keep increasing/decreasing the buy/sell price quickly like it's supposed to do. I click, and the price only increases or decreases 1 gold piece then stops. Anyone know what the solution to this is?

Update: Figured it out - for some reason, having VWait set to 0 causes this problem. Once I bumped it to 1, the problem went away.

Might be worth mentioning that you can also set a key to a macro with the MGE user interface so you can press a button to increase by say 100 or 1000 as opposed to holding down and waiting for the counter.

Glad it's solved though. :)

I had the same problem. A regular pointed out that I needed to change FPS to 60. It had been much higher. The solution worked very well. You'd have to find the post to see the explanation; I don't have it handy.

That would be to change Max FPS=240 to Max FPS=60 in the ini file.

It's recommended because it helps with a few menu/cursor issues, the Barter one being one of them.

Hmm, my monitor refresh rate is 60, so perhaps setting VWait to 1 "fixed" the problem because, with VWait, the fps will never exceed the refresh rate.
