MERP (MiddleEarth Roleplay Project) Thread XIX

Has anyone tried modeling the ring wraiths yet?

Once I get done planning the main quest I'm going to start needing NPCs, Gandalf, Frodo, etc...of course that means race creation. I can use dummy NPCs in the meantime.

When do you plan to meet up, I'd like to join the chat if possible? I plan on getting my own computer some time soon. :)

Well aside from team meetings, there generally isn't any set times we talk. We usually just chat online whenever we're on. I usually bug people about their progress, they shoo me away like I'm an annoying fly ... good times :P

But yeah GreyWizard, just post (or even IM) me your MSN address and I'll add you to my buddy list.

You mean like http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4311 mod?

We should really ask The Bloke permission to use his awesome Nazgul gear :)

Definitely do. Very nice. I will work with dummy NPCs because to do the lip synching it's best not to be tired to the esm yet especially if it uses post-version 0.8 functions or SI, etc cause the lip synching won't work. I should be able to do all the dialog and stages without actually tieing into anything. Then get the voicing and lipping done, THEN merge and make it all work.

Good idea NAU, though if you ask me to merge the scythe I WILL definetely kill you. ^^ And we might need to replace the robe's texture.

@SD: Sounds smart to me.

I've finished the summarization portion and am now progamming in the dialog. This part will take an excruciatingly long time. I am using dummy NPCs and once this is done we will be able to merge this all into the real esp.

Chapter One is done.

I saw the "new" Middle Earth project thread, but I read that most of the work in MERP has all been done in under a year? You guys are nuts! How many active modders do you have?

He's right you know, well just over a year, and if you're nuts it always helps, well that's my philosophy anyway. :hubbahubba:

Has any progress been made on Dunland? I reckon it'd be hard to do Dunland because of the lack of media to study. Nevertheless there's still information on the region.

Finally, I've got an update on the armor:

http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/8565/screenshot54g.jpg
http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/5905/screenshot55m.jpg
http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/16/screenshot56p.jpg
http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/4429/screenshot57a.jpg
http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/3867/screenshot59q.jpg
http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/4137/screenshot60.jpg

Now almost everything is finished. I changed the shape of the cuirass, the texture of the sword, made some new vambraces and created the ground models along with the collision for everything. The only things that need to be done are the icons and the quiver. I'll turn on them tomorrow. So you can expect this armor will definitely be completed this year ;)

ive been thinking of claiming dunland next.. after i finish Dale, Brown Lands, and Dagorlad. although im not sure, i should probably be concentrating my time only on Moria; it needs interiors at this point. what do you guys think?

By the way BGS; thats awesome

Nope, but we have someone on Miniriath though. ;)

I did those round hut models for Dunland and I'm fixin to make some more models for Dunland when I get a chance. If anybody's interested we got all we need to make a few villages. I reckon they probably stay in small villages with live stock. Either that or they chase game animals and are thus nomadic. But they are not agriculturally based because their land prohibits farming.

Welcome LJ :D

And finally, I have a surprise for the team, but I need to take screen shots. I'm using Linux so I need to get the hang of the OS. No MS Paint to just slap screen shots into.

Round hut models?

Any chance those will be released as a resource?

I've been looking for something like that for a long time.

@ CED

You need any models for Moria?

Edit: Well now that I think about it, I reckon if you wanted my opinion, not that anybody would ;) I would suggest continuing the work on all exterior places like Dagorlad, Brownlands, etc... so that the quest designers have more finished terrain to work with. I reckon people are more than ready to actually do some quests in Middle-earth by now :)

Hey Sacred Symbiote, weren't you working on a region for MERP a long while back? If so, would you mind finishing the region you were working on or at least upload your WIP region?

Anyway, the surprise I was talking about. I'll go ahead and show them to y'all and tell me what you think. If they aren't good enough I wont waste my time texturing them.
