Those pictures of Rivendell look awesome! Have any of you guys been playing LotrO? You can get some (unofficial) inspiration from that. Not to copy it, of course, but just some general inspiration of creating Middle-Earth in a game.

I just tought of something while I find out that nothing has been posted since 3 weeks. Maybe this team could need more workers. I don't have enough time to work on the mod for anything big right now but I would pretty much enjoy to do promotion of the mod on popular websites if the team needs it. I wouldn't go offlimits on this but I am sure that with some advertising here and there, the team could be a lot bigger and productive. I don't remember who is in charge right now but if this person and others approves my toughts, I shall try to gather a lot more fans who are good workers for this total convertion that will be the biggest of all.
Jack
P.S. I just wanted to shoot an idea. If it isn't good then tell me and I'll find better ideas
P.P.S Sorry for my writting but I did this in a hurry.

Don't worry, we have plenty of activity and work being completed in our forums. We have someone who is in charge of our advertising, but he doesn't need much help. We have two or three applications each week just from his advertising.

Anyway, we are certainly not dying anytime soon ;)

Sorry for the lack of updates recently. The reason for this is that our team got quite a lot of new members in the last few months and with our current team structures, leadership and our forum organisation we weren't able to cope with all the management related to the mod. Me for example I suddenly had more management issues to do than I had time to work on new regions. Right now we are trying to find a new team structure that will be able to cope with the size of the mod. And at the same time we want that the leading members of the mod have a clear division of tasks, so that the development runs more smoothly. One example of this is that Captain Iglo tries to write regular news updates (more or less weekly) to present our recent progress. You can find the two latest updates on our Moddb page already http://www.moddb.com/mods/merp-middle-earth-roleplaying-mod and propably these updates will also be posted here soon ;)

And don't understand me wrong: we always are looking for new members, but in the future the people applying to the team will really have to provide a proof of their skills and / or dedication.

With the recent release of Nehrim: At fate's edge, I have had new faith in Total Conversions such as yours. I have followed this for years.
I know when you finish it It'll be the sickest thing ever.
I don't really see how I gan help, so I'll be the Project Director of Moral Support: You can do it! Dont give up!

Hi all!

The Ning network is going to charge for their pages soon. For this reason why we are going to switch our homepage to our profile on Moddb, which provides the same and perhaps even better functionality than our Ning page. Additionally with a high popularity on Moddb we have the chance to attract new skilled modders for our team. So hopefully you come by soon and start following MERP at Moddb.

And now update your bookmarks: http://www.moddb.com/mods/merp-middle-earth-roleplaying-mod

Is this project still happening? And is it gonna continue to be a "pop in and out from Tamriel" or will it be (hopefully) a full replacement?

SO, they're gonna yank out the non-Tolkien races, inject Hobbits and Dwarves, and completely override Oblivion, eh? Sounds pretty sweet, but it's been 3 years already.

True, the project is quite old, Actually it has even been started for Morrowind. But we moved to http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18592 about one and a half years ago, so basically everything that you can see in our recent betas has been created in a bit less than two years.

Apologies if this has been asked/answered before, but I've only just recently (as in, within the past hour) discovered this project; I see you're already on the 21st thread discussing it, sooooo...yeah. :P

I wish to hell I knew anything about modding/scripting...I'd love to lend a hand with this.

But anyway, yeah...did say I had a question, didn't I...? I saw from one of your trailers, looked like Barad-dur was shown. Is that going to be accessible? I know in Oblivion, you can get pretty diesel in the higher levels....Tolkien preferred to keep the heights of power reserved for either (1) the Big Bad Evils or (2) the So Supremely Powerfully Good That They Cannot Be Bothered Overmuch With Common Folk, so I'd understand if confronting Sauron and one-upping good ol' Isildur was off the table.

Anyway...lovin' what I see so far. Wish I could help out!

So, it would be safe to assume that dunmer, khajit, and argonians would be gone outright, Imperials would probably become Gondorians, Bretons would become either Breelande3rs or Rohirrim, Redguard would be "whitened" and become whatever Bretons don't, Altmer would become like the elves of Rivendell, Bosmer would become like the elves of Mirkwood and Lorien, and things like ebony, glass, orcish, madness, amber, and daedric gear would be removed completely?

All the old races will be gone, we have created completely new races for everyone. And the armours that are fitting with ME will be in the game, the rest we are creating from scratch :D
