1. DESCRIPTION

***********************************************************************

This mod is pluginless mesh replacer containing a collection of 121 of Morrowinds
original meshes that have had various issues corrected or improved on. The type
of things addressed are typically adjustments to Uv maps, repositioning of poorly
aligned model parts, adding missing pieces, deleting/merging excessive polygons
that are serving no useful purpose and things of that nature. There is also a bark
texture included that is a minor reworking of the original which has had highlights
toned down to make tiling less obvious on the Telvanni exterior meshes.

Also included are some meshes from 'better meshes' by Tarius and also
'Mesh Improvements'by Armed Defender that i corrected the UV maps
should you be encountering uv problems with certain models if using those.

Screenshots showing the various tweaks and fixes applied to each of the models
are included, and you can pick precisely which fixes you want.

*****************************************************************

2. INSTALLING THE PLUGIN

*****************************************************************

1. Copy the Meshes folder into the 'Morrowind/Data' files directory'

answer yes when prompted to overwrite the existing folder.

2. Start playing!

*****************************************************************

3. KNOWN ISSUES

*****************************************************************

UV maps have been adjusted for best effect with Morrowinds default textures.
If using textures that are of a different scale to the defaults then
end results may not be as expected, resulting in textures looking too stretched
or compressed by comparison in which case adjusting the scale of the UV maps
should improve appearance

*****************************************************************

4. VERSION HISTORY

*****************************************************************

1.0 Initial release of 60 meshes plus a few tweaked models from Mesh
improvements and some from Better Meshes.

1.1 Added 4 longboat models, all use the same hull and mast sections and
all had Stripey masts and distorted mismatching swirlwood textured trim.
one model had the mast protruding through the sail, all issues fixed by
this mod.

1.2 Added another 57 vanilla meshes with tweaks to UV maps.
******************************************************************

Awesome! thanks !!

If you want I have a lot of fixed meshes too that I have fixed and also collected around the web (like the mod Correct Meshes for example)for the french version of MGSO.
And also somes of your fixed meshes that I have improved (I speak for some of the meshes includes in your Bloodmoon Landscape Overhaul mod)

I have for example fixed somes UVs of the vanilla plants, wrong texture assigned, fixed the door of Karstaag with a lot of bad UVs and wrong textures assigned, fixed UV of somes doors, improves the Uvs of the icelayers, etc...

For the daedric fountain helmet I have also applied the fix to the Detailed and detailed with reflectiosn versions if you want.

I think a big pack like yours can be the best for Morrowind users, but you will have maybe to think to a version of your pack with the fixes applied to the smoothed version/reworked/HQ to somes meshes ^^. Because sometimes the meshes replacer still have the vanilla bugs/bads UVs.

You need to be carefull with somes of the cushion, because for example the mesh Furn_cushion_square_02.nif, use the tapestry texture and so the edges of teh textures have alpha because of the pieces effect on the texture. So if your UVs are set a little too much to the edges of the tapestries it makes appears somes white zones on the cushion.

On the mesh Ex_DAE_ruin_04.nif tehre is a place where the texture have bad UV (it's a piece of meshe to fill a hola that Bethesda had put here, and this happens on 2 or three other meshes (see the mod Corect Meshes for the fixed version by the author and me) in comparison of the ground texture.

Do you have used the Telvanni fixes by Plangkye?

I don't want to seems too imposing XD it's just that I have been a lot into many vanilla meshes and so I know somes things, like you with the time too.

Cheers for the support folks.

Papillon
I agree it would be a good thing to assemble all corrected meshes into single download and would appreciate it if you could send all the meshes you have suggested both for the vanilla meshes as well as the ones modders have made which can go in the compatibility folder.

I do use Plangkyes Telvani meshes though i found that some of them have the tiling and stretching problems that i have attempted to address in Mesh Fix. The vanilla light bark texture used on the telvani stairs has a very noticeable spot on it which doesn't look good especially when it tiles 2 or 3 times on each stairhttp://s70.photobucket.com/albums/i109/Slartibartfast_2006/?action=view&current=Clipboard-3.jpg

Please, don't forget to add pluginless meshes (without textures) from your Bloodmoon Overhaoul mod /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

If you and papillon aiming to create a single package with all of the pluginless meshes fixed by the community you may also check the fallowing mods:
- Morrowind Patch Project 1.6.5 beta (only the english players are using this mod so there is a good reason to add the fixed meshes into separate mod)
- Slartibartfast's ebony_cuirass fix /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
- Lexa's Picks'n'Probes Fix

- http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39348 (this compilation package contains some other mods like Rattfink's longboat fix 1.0, Ao3's Boat_fix, Alaisiagae's SCR longboat sail mesh fix, fixed bloat mesh from TR)

Also, regarding your "Poorly Placed Object" mod, have you already implemented fixes listed in this mod?: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=8655

I'm very wondering where this comes from because £exa pulled it back on purpose. We built http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=9155 on it, which is the newer replacement.

So not only is an excellent mesh fix released (already installed and added to my essential mod list), but other modders are already working to cooperate in making an all-in-one mesh fix file.

.....We mod-users are truly spoiled by all of you. Thank you!

I couldn't find this mod on GHF forums so I've uploaded it on my own. Sorry, I wasn't aware that the mod was removed on purpose. I've removed link from the original post.

Better picks and probes features all the meshes (the "Pure Replacer" is completely the same). There was a problem with well ... "Wolfman" or so who made the first fix, which let the probes sink in the surfaces. I don't remember the whole thing but that's why we made BPP. Kingpix should already use it in MGSO - of course it's very okay to include the mesh files in a bundle but it should come from the well... "official" source.

Sorry for the inconvenience I caused.

Just badly formed. F'r instance:

Alaisiagae's Soldier Belts Fix
Is:
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7640
Should be:
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7640

Just remove the "amp;" and you're good.

@Slartibartfast

Have you uploaded your mod to say TESNexus or Planet Elder Scrolls yet? The temporary link is glitching on my browser.

Thanks,

John

Wolflore will host it as well. We don't have a waiting period for mods to be approved before they're available for download.

Arffff I have 3 063 meshes (I doesn't count the ones from mods) in the french version of MGSO. /blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
So ........ it's too much meshes for me, right now, in comparison of the time I have available. /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

So you will just have to take a look in the french version and pick up what you want (and ask me for which fix this or this mesh).

I ave also including in it the hundred meshes fixed by Alaisiagae (and reworked sometimes by me).

Here but many things will have to be refixed/verify (I had already made this for the french version of MGSO) => http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1213102-untested-resources-that-need-to-become-mods/page__p__18164348#entry18164348
There in these meshes many with vertex colors fixed.

Slartibartfast1, this link above can be useful to you too /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Good morning!

Is there any functional download link for this mod currently? The OP link is dead.
