Mesh help...

Post » Fri Mar 28, 2014 11:37 pm

The dragon bone arrow has really bugged me, I really don't like the vanilla mesh.

The other day, I saw a mesh replacer available on Nexus that used the steel arrow mesh instead.

It didn't fit with my "vision", so I spent a couple of days with Blender and made a model that I think is more fitting.

But I'm stuck getting it into the game. I'm pretty sure I did everything right, but my player cannot even equip the new arrow(s).

(Well, they equip in the inventory, but when I try to shoot a bow, I get a message telling me I have no arrows equipped.)

Here are pictures of the meshes in question opened in Nifskope.

Can anyone help spot what is going on? or tell me where I messed up?

Here's what I did:

Exported the original mesh from Nifskope as a 3ds.

Imported the 3ds into Blender.

Made my changes and exported as a 3ds.

Opened the original in Nifskope again, highledted the NiTriShape of the model and then imported the new model.

It looks ok in Nifskope, but...

Thanks.

You'll need to do the same to replace the arrows in the arrow.nif as well. That's the one that includes the quiver, that's equipped.

Thanks. I'll give it a whirl.

Didn't change anything.

I can drop a bundle and I can see the new mesh in the quiver - I change the texture a bit.

I still get the "no arrows equipped" message and if I drop a single arrow, nothing appears.

I've some other problem I'm missing...
