You need to add those objects to the CS yourself, it's not enough to just add them to your data folder. So if you are adding say a new static like a bookshelf, you rightclick>New in the statics list (Object Window) give it a unique ID (aaMyNewBookshelf) and then direct the NIF slot to the model you added to your data folder. Make sense?

Hi darkrder thanks for the reply. what i am trying to do is build my own palace but i do not want to use the standard meshes and textures, and if I use meshes textures from another mod but when you take out the other mod all your hard work goes with it. so I decided to find my own meshes and textures, and in the how to install text they said to drop them into your data folder, witch I have checked and all are there in the right place but they do not show up in the TC

Yes that's correct you're on the right track. You do add the meshes and textures to your data folder, but THEN you need manually add each piece to the Construction Set. It sounds like your pieces will all be static objects then. So you need to rightclick>New in the list of statics and give it an ID and point the NIF slot to the mesh you added to your data folder. One at a time. Then all the pieces will be in the CS. You can save and then start building with it.

Adding your meshes and textures to the data folder is not going to make them magically appear in the CS, it just doesn't work like that. Once you've added the resources to your data folder you need to add each model to the CS manually. Part 06 of this http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/GIMP:Retexturing_Oblivion#Part_05:_Putting_it_All_Together_in_NifSkope.21 covers adding a new mesh and texture to the CS. So, it might give you some additional guidance.

If you have a lot of meshes, you can do a shortcut by naming the meshes in a way that they'll be easy to find (like start them all with aa) then drag/drop the whole lot into the CS Statics list (Object Window). It doesn't always work, but when it does, it's a handy way to cut the work in half. :)

Hi Darkrder Me again Falcont. The second answer seems like the best bet, But looking at 1 or 2 of the mods they have them in there own folders, such as Aronmathi mod. They have theres listed under a folder called Ayleid ruins New in the CS infact this is the mod that got me started 3 weeks ago
and I am still banging my head against the wall All though I have got my external Cell almost done using the Cameronsparadise shell But I dont whant all that moldy old block work inside Hence my problem. Oh by the way not being a prolific internet user I hope its ok to reply by using your post box But be easy on an old man. THANKS AGAIN Falcont

If you plan to release this mod you're making you can and should add those meshes to a special folder for your mod. That was it's easy to package and easy to install/uninstall. When I use resources for my mods I add them to Meshes\Darkrder\ModName\

Even if it's just for you, you may want to add things for that mod to a special folder anyway just for neatness sake. :)

However, if you change the folder structure of the resource, you will have to reapply the textures for every mesh. (The exception is if the resource has no textures, then you can drop the mesh in any folder you'd like in your meshes folder.

The two tutorials I linked you earlier in this thread really do explain all this...with pictures, In particular, the Retexturing Oblivion tutorial will show you how to reapply textures in NifSkope and how to get things into the game. :goodjob:
