[RELz, WIPz] Mesogea Total Conversion- Thread V

1st choice should be planet elder scrolls as the download is in two parts and very easy indeed, second choice Megaupload, then finally TES Nexus as the files are split owing to 200MB limit per file. Lots of choice then.

Actually, TES Nexus's file limit is 300mb and I would recommend Megaupload as the first choice of broadband users because it averages over 300k.

On another note how goes the map making? I would suggest stitching together your generated LOD and resizing it. That will give you the most accurate and even look.

Whoa, all it is, is you clicked the wrong button when creating an account. Freeforums underwrite the whole forum system (similar to the Bethesda forums) and on joining up there are two choices, one for those under 13, one for advlts. If by accident you click the under 13 account button then you have to obtain permission (freeforums rules, but I think they are sensible). Its easy enough to make the mistake, one I made myself when creating a test account for permissions.

Just re-create an account and all will work ok.

I sorted the map out, but its a whopping size and needs reworking to make it look like a map rather than a satellite image. TES4QLOD does a full sized map from LOD. I reduced it from 80MB BMP to a 17MB Jpeg,

Quick update:

Now adding NPC's and some first quests. There are however going to be numerous Mesogea specific voice files that require voice actors and also, lip synching.

Job centre openings then:

1. Someone who can utilise the MP3 files of our voice actors and create lipsynch files so that the NPCs can speak them. Desperately needed at the moment!!

2. NPC creators. We need a pool of beggars, guards, ladies of the night (ooh err), merchants and traders, children (if this is possible) ruffians and other city based folk. No need to assign any AI at all as we just need a gang of people to drag and drop, name up, then utilise.

Yes, I took a look quite a while ago. Ive just gone back and found some newer stuff that looks very good indeed. Thanks.

Im in the process of doing the NPC's now for a part of the main city. Still need voice acting!!

If there is anyone who can do some more voice acting and especially lip synching that would be fantastic. We have tonnes of lines to do.

I have several NPC's now strolling about, sitting down and so forth. I havent done the interiors as yet, though will begin doing so soon. However these NPC's just are not naturally involved in the city. Just like the NPC's in vanilla, they walk, talk, sit and sleep. But they dont intereact with things, they just dont appear to be living in the city do they?

Second NPC to be created, a penitent lass, good for rumours and info on the Agaria (the slums at Illusidum City)

I would really appreciate some community comments about what people think brings a city to life.

Are there any mods that players consider good in bringing NPC's alive.

What suggestions do you have to get NPC's looking as if they are part of a city rather than wandering about it.

What else would you like to see in a city, things that make the city feel fully immersive.

Hi,

I'd be interested on working on NPCs. I have a pretty good experience with creating packages and making them do stuff. I've done things like:

Create a changing of the guard

Create a full training/eating/sleeping/relaxing schedule for several NPCs

Make an NPC who requires you to follow him through a cave.

Make two NPC followers.

So if you still need a some guys like that, I'd be more than happy to help. Please get back to me. Thank you!

Yes, your skills are very much in need. Thekarithian lives in the UK, so he probably we'll give you details later. Right now it's virtually a one-man job in that department and I'm sure thekarithian could use your help.

Thanks Darin :foodndrink:

Yes, Kroot there is a lot to do and some exciting times ahead. Its a very much blank canvas with a rough undercoat at the minute. NPC makers are enormously welcome. I'm working on the main city at present and could do with some advice and NPC's to drop into the plugin.

Apart from that there is such scope in the mod for doing NPC's and settlemens all over the place that the work is as varied and exciting as you want to make it.

What would be ideal would be someone to make up some NPC's in vanilla that can be dropped into places where people are doing exterior and interiors, as like me some of us svck at NPCs, AI and packages etc.

Also as the NPC's are being made now, voice files are being sent in etc, we need to have some locations and NPC's outside the main city and currently built other locations so that we can weave them into plot lines to take the player outside the cities and maybe into other locations.

So far as changing of the guard, eating, sleeping etc and so on. Yes, definately help is needed. We will need to talk to work out how to get you involved in the work I'm doing. There are sections of the main city I want to hive off, to block with walls and section so that moving from one part of the city to the other will seem very fluid but actually take place across some small worlds, much like the Imperial city but of course so much better lol.

I could very easily snap off a section of the city so to speak and put it into a plugin of its own small world. You could then develop the interior and exterior and get some crowds milling etc.

Ultimately its your choice how you want to help and with what. I dont like limiting people to set tasks I have set, as I prefer people to jump in and do what interests them, that way we keep things flowing. Many have leapt in, worked for a while when it excites them, send the content to me then drop out for a while until the urge takes them again.

Yes, lots to do and hugely appreciative of the help offered.

Currently we're looking for some Earth-animals, so if you want to help make some creatures or know of some already available resources we could use that as well.

http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18998 - has a mammoth that could be retexed into an elephant (or kept as a mammoth)
http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14265 - has farm animals

Thanks to the invaluable Iliana, Mr Sika and so forth we already have those resources in the mod:

Mammoth, Elephant, farm animals, zebra, goat, new lions, tigers, bears and you guessed it OH MY! Had to say that, its like some Wizard of Oz compulsion.

Yes those elements are in and working beautifully. Thanks though, always happy to get comments and advice here. :goodjob:

The alpha of WAC is iminent according to Waalx, maybe we can talk to him about using some of his creatures in Mesogea. If he's willing of course.

That would be fantastic. I love some of his work. (not sure about the smurfs though, If I saw them in Mesogea I would definately flip!!!)

This evening I aim to add some more NPC's and to do a couple more interiors. Things are starting to fit together now, just need to do some voicing lists to go with these characters.

Whats the best way to list the voice requests?

Obviously the voice acting and looking at the requests will be a spoiler of the highest order. I have opened a section of the forum specifically for it, but for sensible reasons I have limited access to members. IT CONTAINS SPOILERS!

http://lightningshore.freeforums.org/audio-development-f35.html

You will have to create a membership. I am gradually adding NPC's and as other members do so they will post their requests in this sub forum.

Is there a comma between the 1s? If so try a different coordinate.

Thanks for downloading by the way.

cow hiboria 1,1

or any of the above. What error message is coming up?

1. Do you have hiboriamain.esm checked in the load list?
2. Is it the primary esm after oblivion.esm?
3. Do you have SI plugin checked? (needed to display some content)
4. Did you empty the data stuff (meshes, distantland etc) into the data folder in game? Its an easy mistake to make but you might check the meshes folder and find a whole folder called data there containing the entire stuff for mesogea etc.

Hiboria was the working title for the piece.

No, they go down occasionally for back up and improvements. Freeforums try to schedule it in regularly. Its a balance between regular and not losing anything if there is a problem, or irregular and losing a week or more of work if there is one, I suppose.

If ever you cant get into the forums just wait half an hour and go back again.
