Message to Bethesda

Post » Sat Mar 05, 2011 6:47 pm

Hi guys I have sent an email to Bethesda please read it and check the poll if you agree.
Here it is:

Hello

My name is ... .
I am writing this letter because I have preordered your new game Brink.
I really fell in love with the concept and ideas of the game, sadly it seems like it should have been in development for a few months longer to polish it as much as you can and the meet the expectations that you have raised with the videos and interviews released before the game.
The same thing is true for Fallout New Vegas.

I am asking you to please ask the developers at Splash Damage to patch the game up as fast and as deeply as possible and support them with the money needed. Otherwise I will simply not buy an other game released by your company.
Even tough Iam looking forward to Rage and Skyrim just as much.
But if you can not deliver what you have promised with Brink I am not trusting you with an other 60 dollar that you will execute what you are saying with your following games.

I really hope that you will take actions because I would not like to ban your otherwise amazing games.

Thank you

But Bethesda is the publisher

Im still wondering how much Bethesda actually financed Brink. They could have only marketed it / published it. If splash damage were pretty much financed on their own, this could have explained why they did not polish entirely the game, and it that case, it would be un-wise to threaten to not buy others games from the same publisher that might have done nothing wrongs.

I dont know the business details either. Do you say I should rather send it to Splash Damage?
I want the game patched, a little pressure on the companies won't hurt

I just don't know why Bethesda published this game with their name on it. By the time PSN is back up I'm sure they will have fixed the textures and the latency, but on the 360 the lag is crippling; it's giving BRINK a bad name.

Usually, patches take some times to deliver, especially when the issues are related to the engine or main code. Also, they apparently already tried to patch the game for xbox but the update only fixed half the issue, I doubt that they will leave the game as it is.

As for the letter, you can send it to both if you want, all I am saying is that threatening a game such as Rage, which will probably mainly financed by Id Software.

Btw, ZeniMax Media, is the company that now own Bethesda & Id Software. They might also have affected the decisions regarding the release of Brink.

I'm not saying release a patch tomorrow. But they should work as hard on it as they have not released the game yet.

You are not going to put any pressure on the company. Especially saying the things you have in your posts. Complaining about one game saying you wont buy another but your looking forward to two more? You sound like your demanding a patch. Any real gamer out there knows that some games are great and some svck, you take the risk at spending your $60 on a game. If you dont like it take it back to the store. This game is not perfect but its by far very enjoyable compared to most games out there. Its day two, give it some time. I know plenty of other games that had problems and never got fixed, until its been 5-6 months with no patch or fix, theres no reason on wasting your breath.

Another note you dont mention any specifics wrong with the game, you just say "polish it up". Have some thing to back up your complaint.....

sorry to say but it is useless to sent mail like that :)

1: there is no games anymore that is complete on release date
2: thy dont care if you not buy another game from them ( your loss not them )
3: have some patience instead of threaten the game makers

next time i would suggest that you cool down a bit before making emails like that.
your mail is polite but threaten with not buying there stuff is really not smart.

Yeah If Im the only one complaining thats not much pressure. But if enough us who are disappointed for some extend send a mail than they will take patching seriously.
This is why Im writing, because I dont want to wait 5-6 months for a proper patch.
Dont get me wrong I love the game I just want them to correct the flaws

I have no bad feelings I didn't ment to be personal. But saying I wont buy their games is pretty much my only tool. I vote with my money

wow, you really need to cool down :) the game is out for 2 days in us and you are already demanding stuff.
first you make complains without any backup on what your complains are, what are the flaws in the game for you ?
you say you love the game but you cant not bring up the patience to wait ?????

Imo, you should have re-read the email before sending it. Lots of grammatical errors in it. They might take it more serious if it had been proofread before sending. Just my 2 cents.

You do realise OP that both the 360 and PS3 were patched on game release and the pc has just had a patch via Steam in the last half hour? I would say that SD are taking things seriously, are aware of any problems and trying to get the game out there set for everyone to enjoy.

Ya I would have to agree with selerna
It sounds like a hostage demand. "Either fix it, or I wont buy another game"
I have posted a few times in the Xbox Section, and have read many demands by other posters.
To me, that never works.

Instead try addressing them both SD & Bethesda without demands, and stay polite stating why you are disappointed
and hope these issues will be addressed and fixed. That we appreciate the time and money that goes into developing a game. The numerous hours day in and day out as well as the pressure to meet demands of Marketing and Sales put high strain on developers, and sometimes games such as this with the lag issues that are being experienced does not get found until after the game is shipped.

That issues like we are experiencing are sometime to be expected, and that we know that Splash Damage isnt a developer who just throws out craps to make money, but takes pride in their
work as well as they to as gamers know how important the gaming community is to their sales. And they would not abandon them with a broken game. They put a lot of hard work into the development of Brink.

That we also understand that, we must be patient and have faith in hopes these problems are already being addressed by the developers of Splash Damage.

We hope and look forward to more great games like Brink in the future as well as other games being both published and developed by a well credited developer/publisher that is Bethesda.

Then I would thank them and look forward to enjoying the great game that Brink.

Thank you for taking the time to read my concerns,

Signed your name.

Then dont expect a reply back, as to they are busy but your concerns have been and will be taken up with Splash Damage and Bethesda.
But making demands, gets you nowhere, raging hate mail will also not have an impact as a letter that is properly addressed and written.
anyway, hope that helps...........and I hope that helps in otherways as well
