This is a further trick to using the "rename" function for potion bottles. I make a lot of potions and sometimes forget what the exact ingredients were or put them together in a different way and then the potion won't stack together with the original. So I make one of each important potion and rename it with the ingedients in the simplest order, e.g., "0AppleCarrotCloudMandrake". This makes a potion to fortify my mage's Intelligence and Wilpower. The zero first puts the not-to-be-used recipe bottle at the top of the potion menu for easy reference so I can read the ingredient list to make copies (cloud refers to cloud funnel top).
The rename slot can hold 43 characters, but only 28 show up once it is in your potion list. That shoul be enough if you abbreviate (ifUabrevi8). In addition, you could write short messages as reminders for your character. You could have a potion rename be the locations for vampires or possible master alchemy treasure. You could make a note when the next night for Black Soul gems comes. You could even make a cheap potion as needed and rename it with directions telling you which way to go from that point in a dungeon to get back to the exit. Just drop the potion as a trail of crumbs. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination. Good luck!
