You see, I just recently figured that after leeching off the modders for years I should try making a mod of my own. So I booted up the GECK and started putting together a custom armor with the metal armor as a base. Everything went just fine until I started came to the helmet. I'm using the vanilla metal helmet female model with a few addons, and in theory it should have worked perfectly... but for some reason, once I put the helmet on in-game the metal helmet part shows up lying on it's side on my left shoulder, leaving my head bare. The addons show up as the should though.
At first, I thought this might have something to do with the addons, so I tried removing them, however this yielded no result. The helmet still sat on my left shoulder.
I then tried editing the vanilla metal helmet by putting on the addons and changing the ID to make a new item, but this didn't work either.
After that I tried swapping the model with the male one, editing the values, changing which Biped Object slots were being used... I even tried separating the addons to make the helmet two separate pieces. The addons fit as they should, but the helmet still wouldn't come on right. The vanilla helmet still works fine, so I can't seem to understand where the problem is.
And so I'd like to ask, what do I have to do to get the helmet to sit on my head and not on my shoulder?
