MGE\MWSE Internal\External Conflicts

I'm trying to run a few mods together, but it seems some require MGE's internal version of MWSE, while others require the external MWSE v0.94a.

Melian's Teleport Mod (Seems to require the external MWSE)

Is there anything that can be done? Are there plans to update MGE's internal MWSE to the current v0.94a? Is there an alternative clock mod that displays the game time on screen like Time Display? (I would really like to use Melian's mod, so finding another clock mod like Yacoby's would be great, I want a GUI display. I could try patching it to work with the newer MWSE, but I really have no clue what each(internal\external) offers function wise, or why this is an issue to begin with, etc,.)

I tried running both MWSE's together, and that doesn't work, using one or the other, breaks one of the two mods, etc,.

So, can anyone offer any assistance here?

Oh, I forgot, the external MWSE also breaks the GUI\shaders for Vampiric Hunger v3, which is also a big issue, so it needs updated as well..

Which version of MGE are you using? Melian's teleport mod works with any version from rev118 on except MGE XE, which IIRC, doesn't have MWSE incorporated. Melian's mod was the reason I upgraded to rev118 (I now use rev161) in the first place.

Some of the mods that require the internal version also use MGE features that aren't a part of MWSE.

I'm using MGE v3.8.0 from SourceForge, which should be the latest. (Not using XE, etc,.)

Melian's breaks after cell changing, the script "mel_tpp_startS" throws an error, and the game halts the script. The PES comments indicate MWSE v0.94a is required to overcome this, it's due to functions involving strings not found in the MWSE internal version. (xStringMatch, I believe is one culprit, after a quick peek in the scripts.)

According to your last statement it should work, but I disabled the internal version of MWSE, and launched via the MWSE launcher, the mods indeed run, however the MGE graphics stuff is broken. (ie, no clock display, no blood meter, no shaders, etc,. The MGE in-game text appears stating that MGE is working properly.)

Edit: Just did another test MGE with internal MWSE only, and this time Melians didn't throw the error, but casting mark\recall did nothing at all. So it definitely seems to require the external MWSE, which breaks the Vampiric Hunger v3 MGE addon, and Time Display mods.

I'd suggest upgrading to either 3.8.2 rev118 or 3.8.2 rev161 of MGE. I've used both versions extensively and had no issues at all. The newest revision is 178, but I haven't used it at all.

The clock display, blood meter, etc. depend on the internal version of MWSE because of technical reasons, the main one of which I believe is that it has shaders hooked into MWSE directly. I don't know the technical details, but that's probably why the readme says it won't work with the external version. Some of the MWSE hooks may have been modified slightly.

Alright, I'll try a beta build, see if it resolves the issue, thanks. :)

(I only tried that based on suggestions at PES, I had hoped the issues with using the external version were resolved, but apparently not.)

I hope the MWSE guys decide to start updating the internal version, rather than the external one, I doubt Timeslip would mind, it seems more stable, and it would get rid of issues like this.

Melian's teleportation mod will work with either of the beta versions KF mentioned. I've used it with the latest beta (178 I believe) with no problems.

Yeah, I just tested it out, it seems to be working fine now. :) (Latest revision 178.)

Anyways, thanks again, I was really hoping I wouldn't have to choose between these mods, etc,.

No problem. The later versions of MGE used the later version of MWSE I believe, which is why 3.8.0 was giving you problems.

Actually, I use melian's teleport mod with MGEXE. The most recent version of MGEXE has an internal MWSE and I have yet to find a mod that won't work with it.

The internal MWSE in MGE 3.8.0 is v0.9.4 I think while the internal MWSE in MGE 3.8.2 is v0.9.4a version if I'm not mistaken.
