MGE screenshot thread

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:53 pm

Yeah! :ahhh:

Quite difficult to capture a screenshot of, I imagine. :P

Yeah so hard, I didn't even try. And I am not sure how it will turn out. B)

Morrowind with freaking godrays, who would've thought...

At some point, I visualized all this. :)

I love these

I love vality's work, taking the river shot was always in my mind.

Edit: I hope i didn't screw up. Is the link working and are there any in game problems ?

OH MAN!
Phal's did not seem to work correctly for me, and then you go ahead and finish up a beta of yours which works actually really well. Haha, I can see in the file you really separated pieces to see what the bleep you were up to =)

You have outdone yourself with this one. Very nice. I can't wait to try it on my monster rig that will soon be in my possession =) Also, what kind of frame-rates you get running only this?

Also I guess with this feature, since SSAO has been (with ENB) used in Oblivion this is the one thing we currently pwn OB's bleep in, graphically.

I didn't notice anything in fact. In screenshots latest DOF, SSAO, polik's HDR and my godrays shaders are in work. Framerates are still in playable window with an 8800(g92) gts. But I can use some feedback. Also I disabled the performance tweak in this version.(It was disabled in testing.) Also I am sure with a little help I can make it more performance friendly.( :poke: pk)

But ENBSeries is also active in the menus, so effects like Depth of Field are already better in Morrowind because they don't affect the menus. ;)

Why does MGE change my

Screen Shot Enable=1

to "0" everytime i start MGEgui or Morrowind? "screenshot enable" is also greyed out in the morrowind.ini-section of MGEgui.

Any ideas?

Because MW screenshots do not work with MGE. Instead, open MGEgui.exe, click on 'Launch macro editor' under 'Input' tab. Then click on the key you would like to use to save screenshots and select 'Function' from the dropdown menu and select 'Take screenshot' from the menu below. Click on 'save' and you should be able to make screenshots ingame with the key you chose.

doesn't this has sth to do with anti aliasing. however you can use the mge macro editor to bind another key to mges internal screenshot function. and these can even be jpeg instead of this crappy bmp.

edit: it looks like phals post was faster and more accurate. simply follow his instructions ;)

BMP is a much higher quality image format than jpeg, iirc. Jpeg is a compression format, bmp is lossless.

Where are you running into trouble? I had a tough time getting it working, but it is now, and it looks great.

It's probably either http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=979357 or http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=5869, those are the only water shader mods I know of.

No, im using SWG skies though :)

My settings right now:

knx_ssao_v09
GIMP_HdrBloom V13 (turned down the bloom quite a bit)
knx_Dof V12

(does anyone know if you still need to edit the shaders, i remember i read something that the begining of the shader must be edited if you use more than 1?)

16x AF
4x AA (not sure if its on really, might use something that is incompatible with it)
Mip-map filter: none

Draw distance: 15 cells
Distance mesh detail: very high

@ 30 FPS minimum, so very playable!

(suggestions of settings are welcome!)

Depends on which MGE version you use. Pre 116, yes you should edit later shaders to use lastshader and first shader to thisframe.
With Phal's new dlls you can use all shaders with lastshader sampler. Your SSAO and DoF are already compatible. New versions will include edited shaders so you won't have to worry about it anymore. Nice pictures btw, especially portraits.
