MGE Screenshot Thread #2

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:17 pm

I love it, will you share your settings.

I can't get my games darker enough. Death to ambient lighting!(Until global illumination.)
I suggest looking over the .ini tweaks in http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=935 and tweaking from there for your particular monitor and tastes.

Not sure what you mean by "lod bias", Vurt. I know lod means level of detail, and my images should be crispy. That is probably because I don't use a Depth of Field shader compared to you guys. I can't stand playing with DoF, it drives me crazy. I've been meaning to tweak the DoF shader more to my liking and seeing if it still freaks my eyes out. DoF looks great in screenshots but it makes playing the game more difficult IMO.

Would be nice if we could toggle a specific shader with the macro editor (can we and I just don't know?).

I meant the mip map lod bias in the MGE settings, looks as if it set really high, you get that kind of really crisp textures then.. but maybe it just looks that way :)

Likely. Everything is set pretty high in my MGE. I usually take things "to the max," sir.

What a cool concept. Dark nights feels like a "must" after seeing this. I love little tidbits of realism.

I can't imagine ever playing with vanilla nighttime settings. They are so bright and boring.
I don't now what 'Dark Nights' ini tweaks are like, but it's a simple process to make your nights feel real and spooky. Using Quadratic Lighting can enhance the nighttime glowing of lights in a very cool way too.

Dark Nights sets night ambient light to 006 for all weather.
Morrowind Nights sets ambient light to 005 for all weather, then changes night sun (moonlight) based on weather, 010 for clear then down from there for other weather.

on a side note... I used to know but it has been a while; what are the different options for quadratic method?

Reading through http://www.yacoby.net/es/forum/9/6227011168971900.html will help explain most of it.

I am still tweaking, new fog is interesting and, new...

below water fog-0.4 to 0.7

Water settings are untouched, I never needed to tweak them somehow.

Very nice Vurt! :o

Is that the Godrays shader which also works underwater or is it something new? I know Phal's Sun shafts shader (try saying that quickly a few times) doesn't have it...

edit: New screens

You should DEFINITELY try out Phal's new water shader if you haven't yet. Doesn't look like you have any hardware shaders enabled either, am I correct?

Another try at this. I apologize for all the single-post shenanigans, and next time I post screen shots it will be several and not just one. Let me know what you guys think, I just got done tweaking the hell out of my INI to give me nights that are much darker than they are normally. I felt that nights were far too washed out before.

Do you find that it's rather light up until 12am then suddenly gets rather dark?

I do. 4 am is very dark.

PS. You know "the darkest hour is just before dawn."

Wow Morrowind just keeps getting better and better. There are some amazing screenshots in here aided by MGE and all the amazing shaders and what not that it has made possible. It amazes me what has become of Morrowind, I just wish I had a comp that could run all of this stuff.

NOW GO TAKE MORE SCREENS!!!! :nothanks:

This is from "http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=6581" by Qebehsenuf, one of my favourite mods ever:
