MGE Screenshot Thread #2

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 11:31 pm

I do. 4 am is very dark.

PS. You know "the darkest hour is just before dawn."

It's rather annoying, it's light at one stage and then all of sudden it's dark, rather immersion breaking. Reckon there is a way around it?

Tweak (by extending) the sunrise/sunset times in the Ini file.

Everything concerning daytime/nighttime colouring and durations can be changed in the Ini.

Do you find that it's rather light up until 12am then suddenly gets rather dark?
Nope. I know I tweaked Morrowind Nights beyond what it does usually, but I can't remember exactly what I did. Just mess around with the values and get it where you like it, my friend.

MW looks as good underwater as above water now :)

What are the INI settings you use for water?

First attempt at this. The textures really "pop" (in a good way) at 1680x1050 but I scaled them down anyways.

Is that a custom nebula texture? Looks great. I could never get a texture larger than the default tiny size to work - but it looks like you've got a much larger texture working somehow?

It is just like matilija posted it is the night sky from SWG's Skies v3, and it looks awesome alright ingame.

Make sure to download and install the Night sky fix that he posted on the PES page, otherwise the night sky
will not look right. :)

The lights really pop out more than i think they do normally? I like that last night shot, looks great. Any mod that does that or is it just in your settings..?

I saw some poster here (forgot who exactly) who talked about using turning their DX9 HDR2 "static const float BloomScale = 2;" setting to "static const float BloomScale = 12;". Well - that's a little too high for me, so I set it to 6. Looks great, makes the lighting look beautiful.

Hi vurt, and the English community :)

You're screenshots are awesome :o

Can you explain me how I can try to have this look in my morrowind's game ?

Are there shaders, mods, texture pack, MGE's and ini specially setting ??
(especially in http://i34.tinypic.com/5v1u1j.jpg how texture do you use and where can I download them)

or have you modified them with gimp ??

(I'm running with the last review of MGE (118) )

That would be very nice ^_^

Sorry for my English I'm French

Ps: Which water shader do you think is better phal's or Hrrnchand ??
Sorry that's a lot of questions :embarrass:

Thanks a lot :)

tp1337Dude: Cool, thanks! Have to try that :)

Fer'val:
Hi :)

In some of the "panorama" shots i have 10 FPS! I did those just to show off how great MW can look, dont expect to have 90 cells draw distance and be able to play the game with decent FPS hehe

That castle is textures from Connary, but recolored to a more grey color than in his original textures which has more yellow tone. His textures can still be found, but there arent any official links, he's working on an updated pack so he took those down..

The shaders i'm using are (in order):

knx_ssao_09
knx_dof_v12
improvedwatercaustics06a
sunshaft_v002
truebloom_g6_3

Textures are mixed/matched from different packs..:

Everything from Connary
Skydye - some from an upcoming pack, not released.
Visual Pack XT
+ a few of my own (not released)

Visual mods:

SWG Skies 3
Abot Water Life
RazorJack's Better Trees (some of the original meshes from Bethesda are changed to these trees + some modifications by me, i could probably send the files to you if you want them)
Morrowind Grass Mod by Vality, Yacoby, Liztail.
Mixed Sign Posts
Vality's Bitter Coast Addon

Some of the weather settings are from different recommendations on this forum, I could PM them to you.

I'm using Phal's water shader which i think is wonderful. Nothing wrong with either though!

Have fun!

Hi, vurt
I would first say: a big thanks :)

I know that was not for playing, but I want also see that's in Morrowind ;)

-Some of the weather settings are from different recommendations on this forum, I could PM them to you.

Thank you , its is very nice of you ;) (Can you also add your Connary texture modified because I'm not very good at retexturation :toughninja:)

I think I could find the other mods in PES or TESNexus...

Another big thank you to you and all the other modders who still has us dreaming! :tops:
and sorry for may english

Though I have more FPS in Crysis then I have in MW :D Too bad it is impossible to optimize MGE for new hardware.

MGE is optimizable, just a lot of work, however MW.exe is not as easy :P

-Runs to get that mod-

132 megs for skies?! I've been looking for so long for a decent sky replacer, and this might be the one. :)

I'll be contributing to this thread soon enough. I just got MGE installed. No shaders are running, but I'll make sure they're pretty shots.
