I will release this water eventually ;)
Regarding vt's list, there are some very interesting things in it. Realistic sky box sounds the most interesting to me, I'll see what can be done ;)

The way you made statics reflections is just perfect, realistic and blurry. :goodjob:
(not to mention the absolutely gorgeously looking water itself of course :) )

Shadows look good. If only we can use GPU hardware shadows.

I've seen some pictures with shadows before but found now information about them. How it is possible to have shadows in game?

It is an experimental part of Morrowind Code Patch. I am using the first version which has not self shadowing but much faster. I can't say it is stable though.

GPUs have built-in parts just for rendering shadows, if we can utilize them, it will be faster than the CPU driven stencil shadows. Since Hrnchamd's writing shaders lately, maybe...

Note: SmartSat and phal's sunrays are stock shaders, the rest are unreleased and will not be released for the moment. They aren't done. You'll get them soon, if you want.

This is exactly the type of look I was hoping for for Argonia. Where even if you can see far you still dont know where everything is. Good job.

What was that, some kind of new fogging technique or just a occasional bug? ;)

An attempt at using a more realistic exponential fog formula with fake atmospheric sunlight scattering. I'm quite pleased with the result. Never got more than 10 fps with it though :D

With this technique you managed to eliminate one of the most obvious problems of default vanilla fogging :twirl:. I'm talking about the issue regarding very high objects on the edge of viewdistance. They get completely filled with 'fog color' and kinda stick out of the sky very ugly.
Hope you understand what I mean :)

P.S. And maybe there could be another fogging method to achieve the similar result with less fps cost(height based fog for example..I don't know). What do you think?

I don't know if it's allowed to ask in this thread, but I figured it would be the best... is there anyone willing to give me a permission to use his screenshots for paintings for a mod?

You have my permission. :)

Shadows are nice but not stable enough, after 5 minutes CTDs.

Thanks to gluby's guide, now I finally updated my signs. I edited them a little to add scratches and desaturation. I wouldn't mind a one level high resolution of this style though.

Haha. MW is becoming a real resource hog tbh. Much of that could be resolved if only we knew even more about the inner workings. It's kind of weird I find that my biggest problem is upping the view distance in MGE. While I can run almost any advanced shader on top of each other almost without a hitch.

I loved those pictures. Is it me or does the sky also look a bit different? It may be the fog that changes the whole atmosphere but I can't help but to be curious =)

Awesome work Phal!

You're right, I removed MW's sky and used a shader instead to render the sky. I could not get it to look nice with MGE's original fog though, so while I was at it, I changed the fog routine as well. But it is not really suitable for actual playing, since the exponential fog curve makes it look much more dense and hazy. I really needed to up the view distance by a lot, which in turn dropped by fps by a lot ;)

This started as an attempt to implement #3 of http://mgeshaderlib.50.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?p=385#p385. I could not yet find a way to make the sky look realistic while still blending smoothly with everything else, though, without changing the whole fog calculation.

#3 and #16 would add so much to visuals, thanks for your interest phal.

If you have the chance to experiment/play FSX and/or Crysis, their sky effects are shader based and their implementations are "there".

I think the crysis sky is using real world models such as Rayleigh and/or mie:
