Michigan?

Is there any news if what happened here? Doubt it was a target by any countries, maybe one bomb sent to Detroit, but I doubt it did any more damage then what was already there, maybe it became a safe haven for wastelanders to go? I'd love a game set in Michigan with dlc where you can go to chicago and Canada.

What ever state the state is in today does not matter in the Fallout Universe. The timeline is very much different then our own. Sometime during the 1950s or just after the 1950s the timeline splits from our own. America would have remained a manufacturing power house. So cities based on manufacturing would not have gone through what is happening now in our time.

It would have been targetted and destroyed pretty much like every other state. Sure the Devs can make it have some more "Lucky" cities like Pittsburgh and DC that somehow managed to survive the great war (Magicka I am guessing) but I am sick of Cities in such great shape. The State would have been destroyed like all the others.

I just wanna know because I live in michigan, and if there's ever a nuclear war I'd like to know how my life would be.

If Detriot was still in its 1950's style boom (which I'm inclined to believe is likely), the vehicle factories there would likely have been converted to create wartime vehicles and other items (similar to WW2). This would make Detroit a huge target, and perhaps quite wealthy before the bomb too.

I'm pretty sure it would be targeted just like every other state. The world would be covered in nuclear Fallout so it doesn't matter. You either get lucky and survive, die, or turn into a ghoul. 99% chance of death I'd say.

Its not the fallout really that you need to worry about - that goes down to safe levels after a couple of weeks.

Its everything else that you need to worrry about - The entire UK healthcare system if concentrated into one place would not be enough to deal with the aftermath in one UK city. The number of non-nuclear injuries (that is stuff thats not specific to a nuclear blast) would be so great there would be no chance of the system coping; plus your entire food supply chain has been eliminated, etc.

No, you do need to worry about Fallout. The blasts will only kill so many people, but there would be the radiation everywhere. If you aren't properly protected you would get hit by it, and most likely die.
