How regular do these problems happen? I just downloaded the latest version...but don't have time to play it at the moment. Chemistry class is keeping me very busy.

I'm having a lot of trouble getting the new version to work.

Whenever I activate the mod, my game (can't even get to the main menu) simply won't load and stops responding. Deactivating the mod resolves the issue. I really can't play Oblivion without this mod so any advise is gladly taken.

That's really strange. The download may be corrupt. Try dling it again. Make sure you install both the new esp and the new bsa.

Hi, thanks for the great mod, casting spells is a lot funner now! However, I've run into a bug with Midas Acid Arrow. I use Supreme Magicka and I've narrowed it down to some kind of conflict with that mod. Anyway, how it works is if Supreme magicka is installed, upon casting acid arrow, there is no sound accompanying it and it only casts 2 or 3 times and whenever it is cast after that, there is no accompanying animation; that is, the character still goes through the animation of casting it, but there is no green arrow, no sound, nothing. I uninstalled supreme magicka and that brought the sound back, but acid arrow only works the first few times its cast then it stops working; but it still eats up the magicka cost. The only other spell I've got so far is Midas Berserk and that seems to be working with supreme magicka well enough so far. Anyway, if anyone has any tips, or if something like this has happened with them please let me know,

cheers, and thanks again for the great mod :)

I don't think all of Midas' spells produce sounds. So far, I've tried Acid Arrow, Freeze Ray, Glaive, Holy Ray, Light Arrow, and Luminos. None of them produce any sounds like normal Oblivion spells, at least for me with or without Supreme Magicka. The spells are scripted, so that might be why they don't produce the normal sound effects.

Is there anywhere that I can find the answers for the crossworld puzzle? I got a couple of them on my own but I'm not good at cross words. Thanks.

I'm just starting to uncover the realms.
It's amazing! What a work has gone into that.
I love the little references everywhere.:)

One thing that I wondered about:
Spoiler
The armors of light are quiet prices, especially for their weight(1). The helmets however, are seven times more heavy than the armor(1). They are beautiful though.

Good sir,

I did as you advised and it solved the problem completely! I am very happy to play the latest version, this mod is a must for any Oblivion player, mage or fighter.

Hi, i need to know where certain rare items are like the stone brick or the oar are. I found out months ago, but only just started playing again recently. I looked at the mod notes and at the nexus site, but same as there and here I would rather not scroll through so many pages to see how many times it has been answered. I know many of the items are in certain specific midas dungeons or the astral plane. the wiki for the mod even says it will tell you where some of these items are and spicifically mentions the brick, but then it doesn't seem to actually say where it is. I remember the stone wall spell being great for corridors, but now I am sitting here racking my brain to try to remember. Is there a link or faq somewhere to easily go to?

Those two items are found in the vanilla game. I think I used their UESP pages note where you can find them. Just do a search on UESP.

Yup that did the trick, too bad you can't just use some other midas spell to lift a few bricks out of any of the ruins.

Ummm... now my summoned carpet seems broken. i can summon it but when i get on the graphics go screwy and i can't move at all except to get off the carpet. And the the graphics go back to normal. I have tried resummoning, reloading, restarting the game, nothing helps. I love the carpet, but is it fixable?

So, how well does Midas Magic work with both Fearsome Magicka and LAME?

I'd imagine magical combat would become very awkward.

Works just fine, actually. Midas uses all new spells, 99.9% of which are scripted ones, LAME makes many edits to the vanilla spells that the player can get(rebalancing/tweaking), but nothing problematic when used with Midas Magic(except maybe on spell changing from a restoration effect to a destruction effect, but this is because the spell uses some vanilla effects), and Fearsome Magicka uses only new scripted effects, though there is one very minor conflict with LAME that I noticed in my copy, which may have been just a fluke edit I made. They both define a magic effect called BW10, only the one in FM doesn't do anything, where as the one in LAME summons a longsword.

Plus, Midas spells can really only be used by the player, unless someone finds a way to hand them to NPCs. FM uses scripts to hand the spells to NPCs and Creatures, which works just fine, and LAME uses mostly vanilla spells, adding new ones here and there, which can be added to NPCs with a Bash plugin. They play nice with each other, for the most part.

Does it work in earlier saves? If not, try reinstalling the mod (keep your saves). Also, try using "midas force push" on the carpet. It probably won't fix anything but I could make you feel better.

I won't lose my spells if I reload the mod? Cause Even if I just cheated in the ingredients, it would still take awhile to get all the ones I have back.

Also I really hope it does work cause now my stargate isn't working. I got 5 crystals, went and placed them, got the big flare off of the giant crystal got the spell, but back at the gate in midas's basemant the gate isn't on, codes do nothing and the little crystal says "you have to activate the great crystal". I go back to the big crystal and it is all lit up, and when I look in my spell list I have the Midas Holy Judgment spell. Am I missing a step? I could have swon that was how it went last year. Is there more to do to activate it, in this latest version?

So, to be exact, the spell Stasis Field don't work entirely correct. It is just off the Havok, so objects float in the air, and dead bodies do not fall. But the effect of it is not like in the trailer. Why?

And again, sorry for my english.

You don't need Midas for OOO, it's an optional extra for people that are using OOO - it allows you to use some of OOO's items in the gem converter.

In any case, what you are actually looking for is http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23512.

Well I thought that to start with but modular midas hasn't been updated since Sept 09 (on tesnexus). Midas Magic however was updated in March 10.

Anyway I had a look here: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Tes4Mod:Midas_Magic/FAQ#Special_Note_for_OOO_Users

xilverbulet has included some recipes with OOO in mind, there by making Modular midas & midas for OOO obsolete (well thats I how I understood it).

Thanks for your input tho

Not really as they do different things. With Midas OscuroGems.esp you can, not surprisingly, use OOO gems in the Assimulator. Not much need to update it so far as OOO's gems have stayed the same.

I recently reinstalled Oblivion and noticed Midas Magic has had several updates. So I got down to installing the Game + Midas Magic + OOO and a few misc landmass mods. Anyway I got the spell "Stasis Field" And was absolutely blown away by the sheer awesome that was this spell. Sadly after another 2 days running the mod, the spell no longer functions correctly. It now does nothing but stop arrows, npcs are no longer frozen when inside the area or from when they try to enter the area. Not sure what caused it to break, none of the mods have changed in any way, it's exactly the same ones from when it worked fine.
