Hmm...the only other beam spell I can think of off-hand right now, is the Death Stream.
That seems fine, it goes where I aim at, and it's cool too coz' as the enemy moves around, I can direct the stream to follow the target!

Okay, I'm back to edit this earlier post...I've been playing and just discovered a major glitch with my Mega Fire Ball spell. When I first tried it out right after acquiring it, it was working fine. I tried to use it again at another time, and the ball of fire stays suspended in mid air right in front of me! It doesn't move and it doesn't explode, if I run into it, it shoots forward and stops right at the first thing it hits but does not explode. So if I keep casting one right after another, I can actually created balls of fire all around me, supended in mid air!

I tried to go back to a saved game right before I made the spell, then I remade the spell, I got the same glitch right away. I tried restarting the game, traveling to another place, nothing worked to fix it. Any idea what's wrong, Xilver??


This seems to happen when the game is running a lot of scripts. It happens from time to time, but usually wating a couple of minutes, then reloading the cell [fast traveling into a city, or such] fixes it. If that doesn't work, wait for Xilver's official word.


As mentioned, I've tried traveling to other places, restarting the game, disabling then re-enabling Midas Magic mod, going back to remake the spell all over, nothing seems to fix it.

ive installed the v5.0 hotfix of Deadly Reflex wich came out just todayand its now work fine!

Xilver, don't know if you are aware of this, but with the Midas Grand Heat Beam, I can't aim the spell at the target directly. The beam shoots either up or down the crosshair, randomly. So if I wanted to hit something with it, I would have to adjust accordingly from the first shot, and kinda guess where it's gonna hit! Is there a fix for this? I love this spell, it's cool like a lazer beam!!! Thanks!


I've seen similar issues with the Heat Beam (which is my primary offensive spell BTW). Usually, it goes right where I point it, but sometimes it skews off slightly which makes it impossible to hit far away targets. I believe I'm using the April release version. I'm not going to try the current one until you get the new bugs out of it.
Also having a major issue with the Summon Ebony Atronach. I was able to get the spell without issues, but any time I try to cast it, I immediately get a CTD. This is not a Deadly Reflexes conflict because I'm not using that mod or, as far as I know, any mod that incorporates it. I tried moving Midas Mod to the bottom of the mods in OMM to no avail.
So far, this is the only spell I've had this issue with. Some of the other spells I've used: Midas Summon, Summon Centurion, Midas Chest, Missile Shield, Holy Judgement, Heat Beam, Light Arrow (I love using this one on Vampires).
I do randomly get CTD, but it usually happens when I enter a new area or load a previously saved game while in a current game (probably some mod stepping on another mod randomly).
Yes, I do have lots of mods installed, but I also tried disable several (havent tried all yet because I'll have to write down which ones I'm actually using first)
Has anyone else seen this occuring?

SparcMan, I can summon the Ebony Atronach without any problem.

Finally the Midas Mega Fireball has decided to start launching off again! It's working fine for now.

The Grand Heat Beam is still wacky though. I've noticed one thing about the off target beaming.....if I'm on level ground, or shooting level, it hits more on target (though still not directly on the crosshair). If say I aim high up, or down a slope or stairs, it goes WAY off. It also tend to go off it's target vertically, not horizontally. Which means it's either too high or too low, not to the sides.

The other bug is the Midas Mighty Fists of Fire/Frost/Shock, I get visual effects (fire, frost or shock) at times, and none at other times.
Oh, and I had enemies coming in and attacking me inside the Glyph of Warding!? It didn't seem to have any effect on them! I had used it previously, and an Ogre moved away from me.

If it helps at all...this is the only mod I'm running at the moment.

I found an interesting Gold Nugget exploit. By default, Midas has one Gold Nugget for sale. If you buy that nugget, I don't believe it ever restocks UNLESS you ring the doorbell outside. You can buy as many Gold Nuggets by resetting the shop with the doorbell each time you buy a nugget.
On a related note, I've bought 4 stock certificates and come back to the Brokeback mining and so far, never seen any nuggets for sale there. I think for the price you have to pay for the stocks, you should have a better chance per day per certificate of them finding a nugget.

Best mod ever! apriciate your worke hugly! a cuple of things i would apriciate is.

1. turn on / off the wings by casting the spell once to activate it and once more to deactive.

2. make icons for all thows spells please it is majorly confusing having all of my 8 quick buttons having the same sumbol ;)


after that only left to say werry nice worke once again.

If nuggets is your only problem use the console to add it.

here is the secret There is a second smaller island off in the Mist. One way to get there is to use the Force Push spell; when cast slightly downward it will serve to extend the jumps of the player. If you cast this spell repeatedly after jumping off the ledge of the Astral Pocket, you can control your fall and navigate toward the smaller island. There are several other "flight" spells that may be used as well.


Simply highlight the black text with your mouse and check the answer!

All, I've released a patch that should fix the weretiger quest problem and the gold nugget exploit (but not the Heat beam (Sorry!)). It's on TesNexus

So, to help me remember my todo list....

- Fix Heat Beam targeting
- Fix Hanging Spells
--- Holy Flare
--- Shadow Flare
--- Mega Fireball
-- Fix Disappearing Astral Gates ( I think this was fixed in 0.991 but it is unconfirmed).



What about a spell that can make a temporary decapitation wire? Or just tripwire? uses 1 gold nugget, 1 Daedra silk(maybe more for the decapitation?) and something else. Only lasts for 30 seconds. physical damage.


Thanks for the suggestion. Decapitation is Deadly Reflexes territory (and needs OBSE). But the idea is neat.

I was just wondering how important this change is to your mod? I cannot tell what you've changed in the CS so that's why I ask.

got the new patch went to the shop and no door ahhhh!!!! though maybe another mod is interfering with it disabled them all still no midas help !!!!!

edit still no idea how to fix it but i also seem to be have i few similar problems with other mods not loading properly, any ideas as to what may be causing it?

It is a replacement (only option with the BSA format) but the updates are only fixes to the previous version. No new content.

The light change is for several of the midas fire spells. Most notably the fire sprite. But the mod should play fine with other mods that change the light.

Whats the damage to magicka ratio for most damage spells? Everything I've tried so far has really high magicka costs, its like having a bunch of finger of the mountain spells.

Not really, there are several good spells with low magicka costs, like Death Stream, Grand Heat Beam which are pretty deadly. I can't remember how much off the top of my head, I think it's like 60-70 for the above two spells.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I just don't understand the Astral Planes at all. I went through a portal to the Mist Plane and then what, I have read that you swim through the mist but all I can do is fall. I also don't get how you are supposed to fill in the crossword puzzle. I've read the books in the shop but I'm still none the wiser. This is making me feel very stupid but I just don't understand what I'm supposed to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheeka: It can be a bit tricky and you will easily get disorientated in Mist. If you read the whole FAQ by Xilver, I remember there's some spoilers there.
I don't remember exactly which direction you're supposed to swim, but...it's in one direction, you check your compass as you can't really see much around you.

Then, after a while, look down...you will see a huge rock with an upside down door under it. That's where you need to go. Be prepared with the big fish though, I couldn't kill it and had to give up trying after many attempts and saves! I just ended up dodging it and going thru' the door.

you can't find the one crystal that is beyond the astral mist. On entering the "water" of the astral mist, follow the giant white fish to an upside down door. Sometimes the fish doesn't appear. If that happens, head due east, and look downward.
