Do we really need all these crime news threads? It's not as if they're particularly notable, and all the replies are futile soundbites about how awful it is, or how much they'd like to kill the perpetrator. This isn't a news aggregate site.

I mean half the time the actual things the news references uses words that the autocensor blocks...

The underlying issue was the way the school handled the problem. Were it not for that many people could have been spared from the boy's actions. I was mostly wondering if people have suggestions on how to address this sort of 'school administration activity' in the future. It's kind of like how bad policy is what leads to executions by police officers (IE: Not installing Go-Pro cameras or doing adequate background checks on officers).

Finding adequate policies for school and city management has always been an interest of mine, and gross failures of the system (like this article) can lead to systemic changes. It's kind of like how police brutality doesn't get much attention until an innocent man is shot execution-style by the police, and how fraud in a corporation/charity/government doesn't really warrant systemic changes until a gross failure of the system is seen. People never want to talk about these issues until something bad happens, which makes it the perfect time to discuss how we CAN prevent police brutality, sixual violence, or financial malfeasance.

It really comes down to systemic failures in various organizations, and preventing those systemic failures is something I really want to explore.
