[List] Midgetaliens list of Mods for Balmora!

Hello there!

This modlist came into creation when I was looking for mods to fill up Balmora. Balmora is my favorite city in the game and it came as no surprise that the town has LOTS of mods. Alot of my favorite mods use Balmora: Beast of burden Guar, The Doors, PC clothier, Lucky lock up appartment - to name but a few.

As for Balmora Exansion/Expanded - while it is a great mod it makes my Balmora lag as hell, and to be honest it over does it on the mod front!

So for the last 48 hours I have searched through PES to obtaine blamora mods (that appealed to me) and seem to all fit together!

Now a couple of things before we get to the mod list:

  • Cheat mods - There will be overpowering cheat mods on the list. BUT you dont have to download them.*
  • Incomplete - The modlist is not finale! And it is therefor subject to change as I see fit. Some mods may go others may be added
  • Not compatible with BE - It stands to good reason that this mod list is incompatable with Balmora Exapanded.
  • Conflicts with each other - There could be ( I havent fully checked yet ) coflicts between the mods on this modlist. I will do my best to ensure this isnt the case.
  • Not to all tastes - This modlist is a list of mods that should all add to Balmora. As such not every mod on here will be to your tastes.


The mod list also isnt just a list of mods that expand upon Balmora but also add items to Balmora. These mods will all be in their respected section, if one cannot be found then they will be placed under misc ( same as any other mod that has no catergory.) So for example if a mod adds a new weapon to Balmora Mages guild then the mod will be placed under the section Guilds

Also where possible there will be patches released to remove GMST's and Dirty refrences to provide ultimate compatability.**

* Those mods that are considered a cheat will be marked with a colour codded system based upon the exent of the cheat. Think of it as a cheat system. The system is as follows: minimal cheat content, low cheat content, mid cheat content, high cheat content

** Mods which have dirty GMST's will be marked as so [GMSTs] and thos with dirty refrences will be marked as so [D Ref]

Not really :D - This is a mod list for compatible mods. If its incompatible with something on the list - it doesnt get added ;)

I know thats quite a harsh way to look at it but this mod list is desinged for compatibility. While it wont be a "definitive list of Balmora mods" what it will aim to be is a list that shows players mods that can be compatible with each other. Kinda like a reverse, upside down, back to front mod list - Its being speicfic while at the same time being very broad.

Balmora Harbor Expansion will conflict with a few mods on here - i am sorry to say, so it wont be added. Its a great mod, dont get me wrong.

Balmora council club - nice! Forgot about that one. Theres not many that mess with the council club so will be sure to check it out and have a look.

Its ok :) - dont worry too much about it. THe mod list is designed for compatibility ( with most of the less common known mods in mind) to allow for a more full on Balmora experience. What this allows for is for a more widespread "diverse" plug and play. While balmora expansion limits the elements that the player has over what to include, by giving a list of compatible mods it allows the player to pick and choose rather than the "one and none" sentimant that BE offers.

After reviewing many of the mods in this modlist it seems some patches will need to be made. But this mainly for GMST's and Dirty refrencing.

The aim of the mod list is to provide as many compatable mods as possible for Balmora for those that dont use BE. So as such i feel that some tweaking may need to be involved. Patches will appear in post 2.

I will also mark mods that have dirty Refrences or/and GMST's, pointing to relevant patches when and where avalible. The patches will add no new content just update and clean esp's if needed.

I know that this is a lot of work but I think it will be worth it in the end. Not many out there have done this before and i am dedicated to providing the ultimate list of compatibility for Balmora. While many larger mods may get overlooked the benfit of this modlist will hopfully shine light on smaller mods as well as providing a one stop place for patches for those mods.

What does everyone think?

Well I wasnt going to release 2.4 untill i had finished with the mages guild :D

But i guess i could release it as it is and work on the mages guild in the mean time....

list up dated.

Compatibility checked for all the mods listed under houses. Two mods: The tower and The appartment have been removed due to incompatibilities. Both conflicted with the Lucky Lockup appartment ( not sure why The appartment did, but i could figure out how to fix it). Anyway the tower went closly follwed by the Appartment.

A patch ESP has been made for the mod Caius Basemant - to remove GMST's.

Time for the next scetion.

I use a few mods in Balmora

3 homes all Grumpy's - The apartment, Domehome and Asgard - they are all found on http://lovkullen.net/Emma/grumpy.htm

For Companion I use Hilda who is found in the Fighter's Guild, also in the Fighter's Guild I use Korana's Falconer Leather mod

For graphic's I'll have Vality's trees, also Princess Stompers mod - which I can't remember the name of but it makes the poor side much grungier

I've used Dave Humphries furniture store also the Balmora Stock Exchange

Living Cities of Vvardenfell works nicely in Balmora

Frankly, I find recommending visual mods in poor taste if you don't have any screenies uploaded. Both links are like that. It would be great if you could upload some.

Heeey.. those are my mods. :) According to roguetet on PES, my Thieves Guild Tunnel System contains dirty refs (that I haven't gotten around to fixing).

My first released mod- Nerevar's Manor- is on PES. It's just outside of Balmora, but it has a lot of cheat content. I'm pretty sure it's clean of GMSTs and dirty refs.

You also spelled Thieves wrong on my mod.

and the Better Pelagiad Travel (I hope that is the name) with Pocanius Lefturn.
Oh, and that Tattoo mod that puts a guy right in the square.

The Mrs prefers Asgard over Aelathar. I like Aelathar because when you put two Nord female mannequins in Aleanne's Long Togas with quivers and bows and a Templar helmet at the top of the steps, it looks as if my home is protected by Valkyries.
